1. Day 1- Pickup in Kigoma, Travel to Mahale Mountains National Park

   • Morning: Your honeymoon adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel or the Kigoma Airport. From there, you will be transferred to Mahale Mountains National Park, which is located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. 2. Day 2- Chimpanzee Trekking in Mahale Mountains National Park

Mahale Mountains National Park is home to one of the largest and most well-known populations of wild chimpanzees in the world. Your expert guide will lead you into the forest, tracking the chimpanzees by following their tracks and sounds.
   • Chimpanzee Trekking: The trek through the park’s lush rainforest is an adventure in itself, with the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and other forest creatures. 
   • Once you locate the chimpanzees, you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat, interact with each other, and perhaps even witness their daily behaviors. The experience of being in such close proximity to these incredible creatures is a highlight of any safari.

3. Day 3- Full Day Exploration of Mahale National Park

Mahale is also home to other wildlife, including different species of monkeys, antelopes, and various bird species. 4. Day 4- Cultural Experience & Relaxation at Mahale

   • Morning: Start your day with a leisurely breakfast, followed by a visit to a nearby local village to learn about the culture of the region. The people living around Mahale are from the Tongwe tribe, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn about their traditions, art, and way of life. You can participate in a cultural activity, such as traditional dancing or learning to make local crafts.
   • Lunch: After your cultural excursion, return to the lodge for lunch. You may choose to relax or take advantage of the lodge’s activities, such as nature walks or a spa session.
   • Afternoon: In the afternoon, you can choose to spend the day at leisure, either relaxing by the lake, enjoying a swim, or unwinding in the lodge’s spa. For more adventure, you can opt for a boat trip on Lake Tanganyika to discover hidden coves, pristine beaches, and the stunning landscapes that line the lake.

5. Day 5- Morning Chimpanzee Trekking & Departure to Kigoma

   • Early Morning: On your final day in Mahale, enjoy a last morning game drive or chimpanzee trek. The early morning hours provide a peaceful time to reflect on your safari and enjoy one last encounter with the incredible wildlife that call Mahale home.
