Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

   • On arrival, be received by the tour guide.

   • Set out for an hour's drive to the lodge on the slope of Mount Meru in the outskirts of Arusha town.

   Dinner and overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

   • After an early breakfast, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the most popular and attractive national parks. Relatively small area in size, it contains a variety of habitat and diverse animals and birds. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions and numerous migratory birds.

   • Visit the massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

   • Enjoy game viewing within the northern part of the park.

   Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

   • Today, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here, the route follows along the Great Rift valley, beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and Ngorongoro Conservation area and crater rim.

   • Visit Olduvai Gorge. The desert-like gorge lies at the foot of the Ngorongoro highlands, which is a world-renowned site as a repository for the remains of vast numbers of animals that roamed these plains years ago.

   • Have a picnic lunch.

   • Post lunch, proceed to Serengeti National Park and drive towards Seronera River Valley.

   Dinner and overnight stay at the camp in Serengeti.

4. Day 4: Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is as big as Northern Ireland. It is the greatest sanctuary in the world. Serengeti contains about 4 million different types of animals, including the Big Five; rhino, leopard, buffalo, lion and elephant.

   • Have lunch in the afternoon and then follow the Kopjes Circuit that goes anti-clockwise around the Masai kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons, including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink.

   • Enjoy a full day of game viewing in Serengeti.

   Return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

5. Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

   • Today in the morning, set out for a game drive in Serengeti.

   • Later in the day, proceed towards the Ngorongoro Conservancy via Simba Kopjes, Naabi Hill Gate.

   • Stop at Masai Village and relish the intact culture.

   • Stop on the crater rim to enjoy one of the most memorable picnic lunches in your life, then continue the journey into the crater.

   Dinner and overnight stay.

6. Day 6: Departure

   • After early morning breakfast, descend to the crater floor with picnic lunches for a full day crater tour.

   • The Ngorongoro conservation supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which includes hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, lions, and the ever-elusive leopard; you will visit Lake Magadi.

   • Big number of hippos, flamingos and water birds can be spotted around this area.

   • In the evening, drive back to Arusha town for your accommodation at the lodge.
