Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

   • Pick up and depart to Mikumi National park.

   • Make a short stop for lunch on the way.

   • Arrive and start the afternoon game drive until sunset.

   Head for dinner and overnight at Mikumi Cottages.

2. Day 2: Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park

   • Head for an early morning game drive in Mikumi National Park, and return for breakfast.

   • After breakfast, depart to Ruaha National Park.

   • Drive to Ruaha is a truly fascinating one that gives you the real feel of the African countryside. The journey will see you pass sisal plantations, local villages before climbing the Great Rift Valley Escarpment passing through Iringa Town

   • Arrive in the late afternoon and go for a game drive on the way to the lodge.

   Head on for dinner and overnight at Ruaha Cottages.

3. Day 3: Ruaha National Park

   • After breakfast, go for a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Ruaha National Park is the biggest national park in Tanzania; here, you will be able to see big groups of Elephants, Buffalos, Zebras, Giraffes, Kudu and big cats like Lions and Leopards.
   • Take a break during the day and have lunch while watching some animals coming down to drink at Ruaha river.
   • Continue with game drive until sunset and return to the lodge.

   Head for dinner and overnight at Ruaha Cottages.

4. Day 4: Isimila Stone Age Site

   • After breakfast, depart to the Isimila stone age site. The site is a dry bed of a former shallow lake, discovered in 1951, amid a landscape of small canyons and eroded sandstone pillars; it is one of a handful of sites to illuminate the ecology of the later Acheulean hand axe makers who occupied Africa between roughly 700,000 and 200,000 years ago. There is a museum with small, well-captioned displays highlighting some of the finds.

   • With a guide, take a walk around the site.

   • Lunch, and depart to Udzungwa mountains national park.

   Dinner and overnight at Twiga Motel.

5. Day 5: Sanje Waterfalls

   • After breakfast, go hiking at Sanje waterfalls.

   • Bring your swimming costumes, for swimming at the base of waterfalls.

   • Have lunch on the top with a great view.

   Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Twiga Motel.

6. Day 6: Udzungwa National Park to Dar es Salaam

   • After breakfast, depart to Dar es salaam.

   • Drop off at an agreed place.
