Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
- Meet and greet at your hotel in Dar es Salaam.
- Depart for Mikumi National Park, a scenic 4-5 hour drive, heading west towards the park.
- Arrive in Mikumi in the afternoon and embark on your first game drive. Visit the famous Hippo Pool and enjoy a beautiful sunset view while watching the wildlife gather to drink water.
- With its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, Mikumi offers a chance to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more.
- After the game drive, check into your accommodation for the night. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening in your hotel, lodge, cottage, or campsite. The entire board (lunch and dinner) is included.
Day 2: Mikumi National Park Morning Game Drive and Return to Dar es Salaam
- Start your day with an early breakfast and head out for a short morning game drive until 10:00 AM.
- Mikumi National Park is rich in wildlife, and you’ll have another opportunity to spot animals like lions, buffaloes, and bird species in their natural habitats.
- After the morning drive, enjoy a packed lunch or stop for a quick break before beginning your journey back to Dar es Salaam.
- Drive back, pass through scenic landscapes, and arrive in Dar es Salaam by late afternoon.
- You will be dropped off at your hotel, airport, or seaport, marking the end of your two-day adventure.

What To Bring

Shirts with long sleeves (even in summer for protection from the sun and insects)

T-shirts / cotton blouses

Long socks as bug protection

Light scarf / buff for dust and sun protection

Hat, cap and/or beanie

Shorts or a light skirt (short skirts aren’t practical)

Jeans or safari trousers for evenings and cooler days

Jackets, sweaters, a scarf and gloves are recommended for early morning and evening game drives

During winter

Lightweight water-proof jacket

Swim- and beach-wear

Underwear – roads can be bumpy so suitable women’s attire is suggested

Formal attire if you are staying at a prestigious hotel/luxury train

Comfortable walking shoes and sandals (heels aren’t recommended)

Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip protection (SPF30 or higher recommended)

If you wear contact lenses, we recommend you bring a pair of glasses along should your eyes get irritated by dust

Personal medical kit including malaria prophylactics if applicable

Personal toiletries (basic amenities are supplied by most hotels/lodges)
