Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park

   Depart from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park at 7:00 am with packed lunch. Expect to see a large population of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, velvet monkeys, kudus, and many other attractions. Mikumi National Park is the third-largest park in Tanzania, covering an area of 3,230 sq. km. The main feature of the park is the floodplain of the Mkata River, along with the Uluguru mountain ranges that border the park on two sides. The floodplains consist mostly of open grassland and are bordered on the west and east by wooded grassland and intermediate vegetation zones, which merge with miombo woodland. The park is home to a variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, and lions. Enjoy a half-day game drive and overnight stay at a tented camp, lodge, hotel, campsite, or cottage on a full-board basis.

2. Day 2: Mikumi – Game Drive – Dar es Salaam

   After an early breakfast, enjoy a half-day game drive in Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch. The landscapes of Mikumi, including the Mkata plain savannah, resemble those found in the Serengeti to the north. Mikumi is a Tanzanian park renowned for its diverse wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, hippos, kudus, zebras, leopards, and, if lucky, wild dogs. Moreover, the park is home to over 400 bird species. After the game drive, depart back to Dar es Salaam.
