Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Morning:

   • Meet your safari guide in Arusha after breakfast, then begin your journey to Tarangire National Park (about 2 hours drive). Known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers incredible wildlife viewing opportunities.

   Afternoon:

   • Once you arrive, head out on your first game drive. Keep an eye out for large elephant herds, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests. Tarangire is also home to fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk, unique species that are often spotted in this park.

   Evening:

   • Head to your lodge or tented camp for the night. Enjoy dinner as a family while soaking in the African wilderness atmosphere.

2. Day 2

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire before departing for Lake Manyara National Park, which is about 1.5 hours away.

   Afternoon:

   • Arrive at Lake Manyara and head out for an afternoon game drive. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, the park also offers fantastic birdwatching, with over 400 bird species, including flamingos that line the lake’s shores. You will also see baboons, giraffes, and other wildlife.

   Evening:

   • Check into your lodge and relax as a family. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and dine together, reflecting on the day's adventures.

3. Day 3

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, depart Lake Manyara for Serengeti National Park, a 4-hour scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands and the Great Rift Valley.

   Afternoon:

   • Arrive in Serengeti and head out for a short afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is famous for its vast plains and large predator populations, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

   Evening:

   • Check in to your camp or lodge, and enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner. Settle in for the next few days of exciting game drives.

4. Day 4

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. The Serengeti’s diverse landscapes range from open plains to woodlands and hills, and it is home to an abundance of wildlife. 
   • Depending on the season, you may witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration, with millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles crossing the plains in search of fresh grazing grounds.

   Afternoon:

   • Stop for a picnic lunch during the game drive. Afterward, continue your exploration of the Serengeti, tracking predators and observing the large herds of herbivores.

   Evening:

   • Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and unwind after an exciting day in the Serengeti.

5. Day 5

   Morning:

   • Rise early for another full day of game drives in the Serengeti.
   • Today, you’ll explore different areas of the park to maximize your chances of encountering wildlife. The Serengeti is home to an impressive variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and a range of antelope species.

   Afternoon:

   • Enjoy another picnic lunch during the game drive. Your family will have the chance to spot more wildlife, including a variety of bird species, such as vultures and eagles.

   Evening:

   • Head back to your camp in the late afternoon for a relaxing dinner under the stars, sharing stories from the day's adventure.

   Meals: Breakfast; Lunch (Picnic); Dinner

6. Day 6

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. This is a great opportunity to spot any wildlife you may have missed during previous drives. The Serengeti’s vast plains are home to a variety of animals, from predators like lions and cheetahs to large herbivores such as elephants and buffaloes.

   Midday:

   • Depart from the Serengeti and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This scenic drive takes you through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands, offering breathtaking views of the landscape and surrounding areas. The journey will take approximately 4 hours.

   Afternoon:

   • Arrive in Karatu, a charming town located just outside the Ngorongoro Crater.
   • Check into your lodge or camp in Karatu, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Karatu is known for its cooler climate and lush environment, making it a perfect place to unwind after a long day of travel and game viewing.

   Evening:

   • Enjoy a family dinner at your lodge in Karatu. Take in the tranquil setting and reflect on the incredible experiences from the past few days.

   Meals: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

7. Day 7

   • Morning:
     After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, enjoy a leisurely morning before beginning your journey back to Arusha. The drive from Karatu to Arusha takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, offering one last chance to take in the beautiful landscapes of Tanzania.

   Midday:

   • Arrive in Arusha, where you will have some time to relax, explore the town, or shop for souvenirs at local markets. 
   • If time allows, you can also visit cultural spots or enjoy a meal at one of Arusha's restaurants.

   Afternoon:

   • Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, concluding your 7-day family safari adventure in Tanzania.

   Meals: Breakfast; Lunch (if time allows)
