Pick-Up from Your Hotel (around 6:30-7:00 AM):
- Start early to make the most of the day. The drive to Arusha National Park from the city usually takes around 30 minutes.
Arrival and Introduction to the Park:
- Your guide will brief you on the day's activities, the park's history, and safety tips.
Game Drive in the Park (7:30 AM - 10:00 AM):
- Arusha National Park is known for its diverse wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various species of antelope. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive leopard and many different bird species.
- The park’s varied landscape also features lush forests, savannas, and marshes.
Mid-Morning:
Ngurdoto Crater & Momella Lakes:
- Visit Ngurdoto Crater for a short hike or game drive. This volcanic crater is home to a large population of buffalo, warthogs, and other animals. It’s also a beautiful spot for photographs with its lush vegetation.
- Continue to Momella Lakes: These lakes are famous for their rich birdlife, especially flamingos. You can enjoy the stunning view of Mount Meru in the backdrop.
Lunch Break (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM):
- A packed picnic lunch or lunch at one of the park's lodges, such as Ngurdoto Lodge or Momella Farmhouse, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Afternoon:
Canoeing on Momella Lake (Optional - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM):
- If you’re up for it, enjoy a canoeing safari on one of the Momella Lakes. This activity offers a unique perspective of the park, and you might spot animals such as hippos and various bird species from the water.
Hiking to the Ngurdoto Crater Rim (Optional - 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM):
- If you’re keen on exploring the park further, take a short hike around the Ngurdoto Crater Rim. It offers incredible views and a chance to spot more wildlife in a tranquil environment.
Late Afternoon:
Game Drive or Nature Walk (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM):
- As the day winds down, you can either take another short game drive around the park or embark on a guided nature walk. This is an excellent way to observe smaller wildlife and plants while learning from your guide.
Return to Arusha (5:00 PM):
- After a full day of adventure, head back to Arusha, where you'll arrive by early evening (around 6:00 PM).
