Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive

   • Morning:
     • Travel from Dar es Salaam to Saadani National Park. This typically involves a drive of approximately 4-5 hours.
     • Upon arrival, check in to your chosen accommodation (lodge, tented camp, etc.).
     • Enjoy a lunch at the lodge.
   • Afternoon:
     • Embark on your first game drive. Saadani's unique "bush meets beach" environment means you'll have the chance to see wildlife against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean.
     • Look for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and various antelope species.
     • Enjoy the scenic landscapes and coastal views.
   • Evening:
     • Dinner at your lodge/camp.
     • Relax and enjoy the sounds of the African bush.

2. Day 2: Wami River Boat Safari and Beach Relaxation

   Morning:

   • After breakfast, head out for a boat safari on the Wami River.
   • This is a fantastic opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife.
   • Keep an eye out for monkeys in the riverine forests.

   Afternoon:

   • Return to the lodge for lunch.
   • Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Saadani.
   • Enjoy the unique experience of seeing wildlife near the ocean.
   • Optional: some locations may offer the option for swimming in the ocean. Please ask your tour operator about the safety of this.

   Evening:

   • Dinner at your lodge/camp.
   • Optional: Stargazing.

3. Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure

   Morning:

   • Enjoy an early morning game drive to maximize your wildlife viewing opportunities.
   • This is a great time to spot predators like lions and leopards.
   • Capture those last memorable photos.

   Mid-morning:

   • Return to the lodge for breakfast and check-out.
   • Begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam.

   Afternoon:

   • Arrive back in Dar es Salaam.
