Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

   • Meet and greet your Tanzanian safari guide and depart to Selous Game Reserve from Dar es Salaam with a picnic lunch. The journey will take 6 hours. You will be transported in a 4×4 safari vehicle. 

   • Go on a boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River, which brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile and fantastic birdlife. Crocodiles glide into the water as your boat approaches and hippos appear in frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam.

   Dinner and overnight will be at Selous Hippo Camp (Full board).

2. Day 2: Selous Game Reserve Expedition

   • Enjoy a full day in the Selous Game Reserve on an exploration of the Reserve in a 4 wheel vehicle; it will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of the vast park. Selous is famous for its elephants, commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. 

   Dinner and overnight will be at Selous Hippo Camp (Full Board).

3. Day 3: Selous to Mikumi National Park

   • Have breakfast and proceed on a wilderness walking safari with the guidance of an armed ranger taking 2 hours. The walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds. It starts in the morning.

   • Meet with your vehicle and game drive en route to Mikumi National Park; the journey is the most amazing and truly wild in the untouched areas of Tanzania. The drive will take you up into the Uluguru Mountains across rivers and past small local villages and farms. 

   Dinner and overnight will be at Angalia Camp (Full Board).

4. Day 4: Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

   • Have a refreshing breakfast, check out and launch the journey to Ruaha with lunch in Iringa Town. 

   • Continue to National Park, where you will arrive in the afternoon. 

   • Go for short game drives in the park or relax at leisure. 

   Dinner and overnight will be at the Mwagusi camp (Full board).

5. Day 5: Ruaha National Park Excursion

   • Have breakfast and enjoy game viewing drives in Ruaha National Park; look for Roan and Sable antelope, hippo, crocodile, waterbuck, reedbuck and buffalo. 

   • Venture to the river’s edge to drink, attracting the attention of lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, jackal and many more antelopes including Dik-dik. There are many birds in the park including Eurasia migrants that come to visit the park twice a year. 

   Dinner and overnight will be at Mwagusi camp (Full board).

6. Day 6: Safari and Drive to Iringa

   • Enjoy breakfast and commence a walking safari accompanied by an experienced Tanzanian safari guide; here you will have the opportunity to ‘touch the wild’.

   • Have a refreshing lunch at the camp.

   • Continue game viewing drive en-route to Iringa town.

   Dinner and overnight at the Mwagusi camp (Full board).

7. Day 7: Back to Dar es Salaam

   • Have a refreshing breakfast.

   • Enjoy a short tour to the Isimila Stone Age Site found in the Iringa region, which is an important site consisting of stone tools.

   • Depart to Dar es Salaam, where you will arrive late evening and drop off at the hotel.
