Day 1: Mardin
Meet and assist at the airport, then proceed to the city center. Our first stop is Mor Behrem Kırklar Church. Following the information we receive from the church officer, we will walk through the narrow streets of Mardin to see the Mardin Museum, Latifiye Mosque, and the Ulu Mosque, one of the most important structures in the region, and photograph them. Then, we will visit the PTT building, which has been featured in many TV series and films. Afterwards, we will visit the Şehidiye Mosque and Madrasa, pass by the Abbaras, one of the symbols of Mardin, and reach the Kasımiye Madrasa. Finally, we will drive to Dara, often called the Ephesus of Mesopotamia. After the tour, we will return to our hotel for the overnight stay.
-
Day 2: Göbeklitepe
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Sanliurfa. On our way, we will visit "Göbeklitepe," one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dating back 12,000 years. It is considered the first pilgrimage center, challenging the known written history. Göbeklitepe is located in the Mesopotamia region and provides crucial insights into religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. It offers information about creating a sanctuary and sheds light on their religion, religious symbols, technology, and sciences. Then, we will continue to Şanlıurfa for an overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Urfa City Tour and Museum
After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a city tour of Urfa. Our itinerary includes Halil-ur-Rahman Mosque, Ayn Zeliha (Balıklıgöl) – Rizvaniye Mosque, and the cave where Prophet Abraham was born. We will also explore Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Market, Hacı Kamil Han, Huseyiniye Bazaar, Naccar Bazaar, and the Historical Customs Inn. Additionally, we will visit Ulucami and the Culinary Museum. Our last stops will be the Archaeology Museum and the Mosaic Museum. We will spend the night in Urfa.
-
Day 4: Harran
Today, we will visit the earthen Harran houses with conical roofs, the ancient ruins of Harran University (considered the first university in the world), and the historical Harran fortress from when Harran was the capital of the Umayyads.
