Itinerary

1. Drive to the foot of Mt. Ararat

   • Eat breakfast at a hotel in Dogubayazit. 

   • Later, pack your equipment on a minibus and drive to the foot of Mount Ararat. 

   • Stop near to Cevirme Village at 2200 meters. The equipment is packed on horses by porters, and you start to walk to Yesil Yayala Camp (Base Camp, 3200 meters).

   • After 3-4 hours, reach the campsite where you will pitch your tents. 

   • Afterwards, hot drinks and meal will be served.

   Overnight at the Base Camp.

2. Acclimatization day

   • After breakfast, ascend to Camp 2 (4200 meters) and return to Base Camp. This walk will prepare better your bodies for higher altitude. 

   • If the group prefers to choose an alternative route (more green and scenic) and walk up to altitude 3900-4000 meters, it can be made possible. 

   • Later, get back to the Base Camp for dinner and rest.

   Overnight at the Base Camp.

3. Ascent to Camp 2

   • After breakfast, pack your equipment on horses, and start to ascent to Camp 2 (4200 meters).

   • After reaching the campsite, pitch your tents, eat dinner, and prepare yourself for climbing to the summit of Mount Ararat the following day.

   Overnight in Camp 2.

4. Ascent to the Summit and Descent to Camp 2

   • Have a very early wake-up call (about 1-2 a.m.). 

   • Eat breakfast, drink hot tea/coffee and start to ascent to the summit. 

   • After 5-7 hours, reach the summit at 5137 meters, when you will have an opportunity to take some photos and celebrate successful climbing. 

   • Afterwards, start to descent to Camp 2, when you will have a rest, lunch, and pack our things. 

   • After a rest, continue the descent to Base Camp, when you pitch our tents, eat a hot meal and stay overnight.

5. Descent to Cevirme Village

   • After breakfast, start the descent to Cevirme village where minibuses are waiting.

   • Head back to Dogubayazit, to the hotel.

   • In the afternoon, if you are not very tired, you can visit Ishak Pasha Palace (located 7 km from Dogubayazit), Meteor Crater and Noah's Ark Museum.

   Dinner. 

   Overnight at the hotel.
