Trekking tour
Set out for a short trek to Doi Ang Khang, which offers a spectacular panorama of the surrounding landscape. The reserve is of great interest to trekkers and nature lovers with its unique ecosystem. Bird watchers can enjoy witnessing birds of different colours and sizes as this unique ecosystem is home to 362 species. During December and February, red and white rhododendrons bloom, which are not to be found anywhere else in Thailand.
See the Twin Royal Pagoda, namely Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedon and Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri. They were built by the Royal Thai Army on the auspicious occasion of King Bhumipol’s 60th birthday celebration (1987) and Queen Sirikit’s 60th birthday (1992). The beautiful gardens and the panoramic view promise to leave anyone in an awe of this place.
Shop for some delicious local fresh fruits and other locally made products at the hill tribe markets before stopping at Doi Inthanon Royal Project restaurant for lunch.
Visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Chiang Mai, the Vachiratharn Waterfall, which is about eighty meters high.
