The Spilt Rock of Horeb
- Visit our tour representative in Tabuk for a tour of Al Bahah starting at the Split Rock of Horeb.
- Moses and his people camped in an area with no water; due to the people's desperation, which came from the fear of dying of thirst, Moses believed that the people's wrath would result in his being killed. The deliverance of Moses and his people came about by an incredible miracle that occurred at a place called Rephidim. Moses struck this Rock of Horeb, which split, producing such large volumes of water that what ensued was described as rivers in the Desert'. Seeing this miracle up close is essential on any visitor's journey into Saudi Arabia.

Jethro’s tombs
- Maghaer Shuaib is in the northwest region of Saudi Arabia, specifically in the reddish desert west of Tabuk. The site is surrounded by a rugged and arid landscape characterized by sandstone cliffs, rocky outcrops, and vast stretches of desert.
- Archaeologists are still studying and researching Maghaer Shuaib's exact origins and history. However, the site is believed to date back to the Nabataean civilization, which thrived in the region from the 4th century BC to the 1st century AD. The Nabataeans were skilled traders and builders known for their ability to create elaborate rock-cut architecture.
- One of the most striking features of Maghaer Shuaib is its rock-cut facades. Like Petra and Hegra, the sandstone cliffs at Maghaer Shuaib were meticulously carved to create elaborate and intricate designs. These facades often feature columns, niches, and decorative motifs, showcasing the artistic and architectural prowess of the ancient inhabitants
- The site is also notable for its tombs and burial chambers, which are integrated into the sandstone rocks. These structures served as final resting places for the deceased and provided valuable insights into ancient burial practices and beliefs. Some of the tombs are adorned with carvings and decorations, adding to their aesthetic appeal.
-
Moses Well
- Al Suaedni Well Visit the Moses well at Maqna. It is believed that Moses took care of Jethro's (Prophet Shuaib) daughters and helped them take out water for their sheep. This is the first place where Mose (Musa) met Zippora, Jethro’s daughter, and married her.
-
Elim Oasis
- The Oasis of Elim was a significant stop on the way to Mount Horeb after their stop in Mara. This place is described in Exodus and by the historian Josephus as having 12 wells and 70 palm trees. There are many trees and ancient wells in this location.
- The local people say this is one of the places Moses visited while in Midian.
- At a nearby town called Magna is a place named "Ain Al Musa" or "The Spring of Moses". Several natural springs provide year-round water, and there is debate over which site is correct for Elim. Some locals say that Ain Musa is where Moses found his wife and protected Jethro's flock.
