Itinerary

Day 1- Arrival - Kigali
Arrive at your hotel in Kigali.
Go on a city tour with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times.
Visit the Nyabugogo Market and Kigali Genocide memorial site and Richard Kandt Museum.

Day 2- Akagera National Park
Head to Akagera National Park for a full day game drive with the Rwandan tour guide.
Return to Kigali.

Day 3- Nyungwe Forest National Park
See Kamegeri Rock, Nyanza King Palace and the National Ethnographic Museum in Huye on-route.
Continue onwards to Nyungwe National Park.

Day 4- Nyungwe Forest National Park
Begin with an early morning chimpanzee tracking at the Nyungwe National Park.
Go for canopy walks in the afternoon with the Rwandan tour guide.
Overnight at the guest house/lodge/hotel in Nyungwe.

Day 5- Bwindi / MGahinga Gorilla National Park
Begin with an early morning drive to Bwindi/MGahinga Gorilla National Park for gorilla tracking.
Visit Napoleon Island in Karongi District and the Environmental Museum in Karongi.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant en-route.
Overnight at Buhoma Tented Lodge.

Day 6- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Begin with an early breakfast and finish formalities at the park offices.
Embark for a once in a lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas in this impenetrable forest area. The trekking may take a whole day but it’s totally worth it.
Overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge.

Day 7- Kigali International Airport
Head to Kigali International Airport after breakfast.
Visit local markets, souvenir shops, etc. Go on evening excursions around Kigali en-route.
