Start your journey by exploring the city of Kigali, where you will visit the genocide memorials. Then, venture into the wild, searching for gorillas, chimpanzees, and the Big Five game as you explore the Volcanoes, Nyungew, and Akagera national parks.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Airport pickup
- Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, get picked up by our professional driver guide and transfer to your hotel. Our guide will introduce you briefly to one of Africa’s cleanest cities the next day and give you a general orientation about the trip.

Day 2: City Tour - Transfer to Musanze
- After breakfast at 9 am, start your Kigali city tour with a visit to the Genocide Memorial to pay homage to the victims of Genocide Against Tutsi. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
- Proceed to the Campaign Against Genocide Memorial. This memorial is about the military campaign by President Paul Kagame to stop the genocide.
- Transfer to Musanze for an overnight at Tiloreza Eco Lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking
- After an early breakfast, drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters. Get an introduction from a park ranger.
- Set out on a hike through the mysterious intimacy of the rainforest with the colourful birds that will take you to the rare golden monkey.
- Head to the lodge to take a rest.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
- After an early breakfast, drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be allocated a gorilla tracking group at 7 am. Get a briefing from your trackers, and then you start the amazing adventure of gorilla trekking. The tracking/trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking. You can spot mountain gorillas only a few meters away from you.

Day 5 : Pfunda Tea Estate
- After breakfast, drive to meet the local farmers and enjoy a 2-hour tea experience at the Pfunda Tea Cooperative. Go through the whole process of tea making, all the way from picking leaves to having a hot cup of it.
Stay at Serena Hotel for an overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest Park
- After breakfast at 8 am, drive to Nyungwe Forest Park. It takes approximately 4 to 5 hours to reach Nyungwe Forest Park.

Day 7: Chimps Trekking
- At 5 am, drive to Nyungwe for a briefing. Then, set out for chimpanzee trekking. The chimpanzees live in different families, each family headed by one dominant who leads the group. They demonstrate different roles in a family, with the females nursing and taking care of the young ones, the males protecting the family, and the young ones playing and feeding.

Day 8: Canopy Walk & Transfer to Kigali
- After breakfast at 8 am, drive to Uwinka for a canopy walk experience. The canopy walkway gives an exhilarating perspective over the ancient treetops. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Albertine Rift endemic species and countless butterflies.
- After the canopy walk experience, drive to Kigali.

Day 9: Transfer to Akagera National Park
- After breakfast at 8 am, get picked up for your transfer to Akagera. It is named after a river that flows along the eastern boundary and feeds into a labyrinth of lakes.
- After registration, head for a short game drive. Immerse yourself in Rwanda’s savannah safari park in search of Masai giraffe, elephants, lions, waterbuck, bushbuck and reedbuck.
- Later in the evening, set out on a night game drive at 5:30 pm. You will spot mostly nocturnal animals.

Day 10: Full Game Drive
- Have a cup of the finest Rwandan coffee/tea at 8 am. Head out for a game drive from the southern part of the park to the northern part, which takes about 6 hours to 7. The full-day game drive offers you more opportunities to spot various wild animals that you might have missed yesterday.
- Drive back to the airport for your international flight back home.
