Highlihghts of Saint Petersburg
- Meet your tour guide in the hotel anywhere in Saint Petersburg at 10:00 am. Hop inside your private car and explore the city with your private tour guide.
- Visit Hare Island. It's a small island where Tsar Peter the Great ordered to build his fortress in 1703 but in 1924 the fortress got converted into a museum. In this fortress, we will explore the highest bell tower of Saint Petersburg and the most famous bronze statue of Peter the Great.
- Explore Palace Square. Palace Square is the central city square of Saint Petersburg where many significant events took place like the Bloody Sunday Massacre and parts of the October revolution. All national parades and programs in Saint Petersburg take place at the Palace Square. Best place for Photography.
- See the Alexandrian Column. Its is the focal point of Palace Square which is named for Emperor Alexander first of Russia. It weighs 600 tonnes and fixed in a position by its own weight alone. It is topped with a statue of an angel holding a cross, as a triumphal column and the face of the angel bears great similarity to the face of Emperor Alexander I.
- Visit the Winter Palace. The Winter Palace was the official residence of Russian Emperor’s from 1732 to 1917. It is situated between Palace Embankment and Palace Square. The Winter Palace has been calculated to contain 1,886 doors, 1,945 windows, 1,500 rooms and 117 staircases. In 1917, the palace was declared to be part of the Hermitage public museums. There is a splendid view of Winter Palace from Palace Square from where we will see it.
- Go to the General Staff Palace. An edifice with a 580 m long bow-shaped facade, situated on Palace Square. It was designed by Carlo Rossi in 1819-1829 which connects two main streets of Saint Petersburg, called Bolshaya Morskaya and Nevsky prospect. It was served as the headquarters of the General Staff (western wing), Foreign Ministry and Finance Ministry (eastern wing) until 1918.
- Visit the Kazan Cathedral. Kazan cathedral is one of the most prominent church in Saint Petersburg which is dedicated to Lady of Kazan ( Russian Goddess ). It is located on Nevsky prospect.
- Transfer back to your hotel.
