Itinerary
-
Day 1- Stavropol Krai - Elbrus Foothill
Meet at Mineralnye Vody Airport with your Russian mountain guides and transfer to Elbrus foothill. It is also possible to take an early morning flight for the schedule’s second day (in this case, you will have to take a personal transfer).
-
Day 2- Move to the Huts
Take a lift or cableway ride to the Refuge (at 3,720 m) and stay in the huts or accommodation places. This area serves as a base for acclimatisation by many mountaineers.
Overnight stay will be here.
-
Day 3- Mount Elbrus
Begin your climb towards Mount Elbrus (5,642 m). The climb will start between 2 – 4 am (as the guide decides). The climb will take around 8 to 12 hours on average.
A part of the route here, during both ascending and descending, can be covered on snowcats. The decision to use one should be made by 12 am on the day before beginning the actual climb.
Descend back to the valley after the climb.
Transfer to the airport (for flights after 9 pm).
