Itinerary

1. Day 1: Sibiel

   • Soon after you arrive at the airport, get transferred to the rural area of Sibiel, a delightful place at the foot of the Carpathian mountains. Sibiel is a unique place where traditions have not changed, and locals wear peasant clothes created by their own hands.
   • After reaching your accommodation – a boarding house in the center of the village, we will visit the Museum of Painted Glass Icons, the largest of its kind in Romania.

2. Day 2: Biertan to Sighişoara

   • On our second day, we’ll delve into the medieval history of Transylvania. First, we’ll visit the Fortified Church of Biertan, a place of worship, refuge, and prison all at once.
   • Then we’ll take a stroll on the winding cobbled streets of the picturesque Sighişoara, up to the Clock Tower. 
   • In the evening, your hosts will organize a party including meals, music and Romanian traditional folk dances.

3. Day 3: Drive through the Carpathian forests

   • After breakfast, go for a ride in a cart pulled by horses, a means of transport used in the Romanian countryside.
   • Our beautiful journey will take us through the Carpathian forests, and we’ll pause for a picnic in a meadow offering a panoramic view of the surrounding villages. All products served are organic, resulting from a natural process that has remained largely unaltered for decades.

4. Day 4: Alba Lulia

   • We leave the busy morning atmosphere behind and head to the Alba Carolina Fortress, the largest fortress in Romania, whose history begins with the Roman Empire and continues to this day.
   • Our next tourist sight is Câlnic Fortress, a monument listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, an ancient noble’s dungeon turned into a fortress.

5. Day 5: Painting workshop and Wedding

   • For a truly authentic local experience, your vacation in Transylvania should include some demonstrations of the local artisans. Your morning begins with a glass painting workshop, according to unique techniques perfected over the years by craftsmen in the area.
   • In the afternoon we’re invited to a traditional Romanian wedding. Dressed in traditional folk costumes, the wedding guests go to the bride’s and groom’s houses, accompanied by musicians and a cheerful crowd.
   • The evening continues with the wedding party, where you’ll enjoy traditional foods and beverages. This event is organized only for groups exceeding 15 people.

6. Day 6: Sibiu City

   • A few minutes away from Sibiel, we enter the city of Sibiu – one of the absolute must-see places in Romania! Having been declared the European cultural capital in 2007, Sibiu greets the tourist with the atmosphere of a medieval German burg, with its wonderfully preserved old town and squares surrounded by historical buildings, museums, and artsy cafés.

7. Day 7: Departure

   • Saying goodbye to the unique atmosphere of Transylvanian villages, we leave for the airport.
