Itinerary

1. Bucharest Tour

   • Meet the Romanian tour guide in Herastrau Park, in front of Hard Rock Coffee. 

   • See Herastrau, a glorious park spread over 187 hectares, is one of the jewels in Bucharest’s crown.

   • Go to Kiseleff Street, full of museums, parks (Kiseleff Park and Herăstrău Park), grand residences, and the Arcul de Triumf.    

   • Nicolae Ghica-Budeşti, dating from 1912, designed marvel at the Peasant Museum's wonderful red brick building. 

   • Pass through Victory Square, a historical Victory Avenue.

   • Witness some significant episodes of the recent history in the Romania University Square. This is where Goliad and the  Mineriad took place in the early 1990s, right after the fall of the communist regime.

   • View the Revolution Square, once known as Piața Palatului, used to be a Royal Palace. Now it is the National Museum of Art of Romania.

   • Stop at the Bucharest Atheneum, which is a concert hall in the center of Bucharest. Since 1888, it is a landmark of the Romanian capital city.

   • Proceed to the Old Theatre, which was founded as Teatrul cel Mare din Bucureşti. It became a national institution in 1864 by a decree of Prime Minister Mihail Kogălniceanu, now administered by the Romanian Ministry of Culture.

   • View the Parliament House (optional), also known as People’s House, is a series of impressive buildings that depict how wealthy and powerful was the Socialist Republic of Romania.

   • Enjoy the busy Old Bucharest area, which was once known as Little Paris. The area is full of architectural masterpieces. 

   • Visit the Vlad Tepes castle ruins, which used to be the former residences of Vlad the Impaler.

   • Go through the Unirii Square, one of the largest squares in central Bucharest. It houses the Piața Unirii metro station, interchange RATB buses, and also a tram terminal. The central point of Bucharest has a huge square shopping center with beautiful fountains.
