Furnas Valley
Begin the tour from the first capital of the island of São Miguel, Vila Franca do Campo, with a short stop for tasting the famous "Queijadas da Vila" (traditional pastry) with the Ponta Delgada tour guide.
Proceed to the Furnas Valley to visit the Terra Nostra Park, possibly the best example of the romantic 18th-century gardens in the Azores. Walkthrough paths surrounded by diverse vegetation and enjoy a thermal bath in the pool.
Before lunch, visit the area of Caldeiras next to the Furnas lake, where you will attend demonstrations of the traditional Cozido and learn how to cook in the Caldeiras. The Cozido will be your lunch and served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, experience how the inhabitants of this parish live with a dormant volcano.
Visit the area of springs and fumaroles, where you can taste the waters that come directly from the rocks.
Return to Ponta Delgada by the North Coast, stopping at Gorreana Tea Factory.
