Description
This is the haunted tour of Porto, covering true stories but also legends of the Portuguese culture. No one will jump on you dressed as a ghost or a dead person. I hope to give you a spooky tour, not a heart attack. Our tour starts at dusk at the Virtudes Gardens, where the Jewish cemetery used to be. We will talk about the Inquisition and walk through the Vitória neighbourhood, telling stories from the 15th and 16th centuries. You will learn about witchcraft in the Middle Ages, making our way through the Cordoaria gardens, where an old factory burned down and where an old prison awaits. Going down the street, we will pass through the old cemetery of the criminals. Passing Aliados Avenue, you will hear about some influential men who lost their heads to defend their country's freedom. To complete our evening, we will visit the haunted train station of São Bento and finish our tour at the old and traditional tavern Pinguim.
