Itinerary

Azores Whale Watching & Islet Boat Tour
- Meet your Portugal wildlife guide at the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo for check-in at the specified time.
- Go to Cetacean (Whales and Dolphins) local species, their natural habitat, communication, migration, behavioural patterns, and onboard safety.
- Follow the Guide and Skipper to board their designated boat and go out to sea. Locate your friends, and provide directions via VHF Radio to where the boat will travel - initially at high speed.
- Travel in your boat around the Princess Ring Islet of Vila Franca do Campo for a close look at the volcanic marvel and resident wildlife.

Availability: Year-round at 8:30 or 12:30 From May 1st to September 30th additionally at 15:40.

Cutoff Time: Book until 2 hours before departure times

From Ponta Delgada city centre by auto, head East along the coast and follow directions to Vila Franca do Campo. Once in Vila Franca do Campo, descend towards sea level and the Marina where our Base and Boats are stationed, and Free Parking can be found.

Hotel pickups are charged separately, are subject to availability, and commence prior to the designated time. Contact to book and confirm your exact pickup time.

Light food is permitted onboard, and a Camera is essential, especially for photography lovers. Please protect any electronics and personal equipment.

This tour is inappropriate and inadvisable for anyone pregnant, with a weak back, in a wheelchair, or in delicate health condition.

It is important to understand that, although our data show a 98% spotting chance for cetaceans in an average of 3 species per tour, 4 resident species (including Sperm Whales) from up to 28 sighted in a year, and even though we only go out by indication from an inland high lookout, it is not possible to control their behaviour or to guarantee that you will see specifically Whales or any other species at a specific time frame.

The minimum age is 4, children up to the age of 13 must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Primary First Name, Last Name, and Email Address are required on all bookings. A Phone Number is recommended for last-minute changes.

Cancellation Policy:

Should you need to reschedule with more than 24 hours notice, rescheduling is free of charge.

Should you cancel less than 24 hours before departure time, or not show up at the designated time, you will be fully charged.
