Leave the city of Porto.
Go towards the Douro Valley, a unique place where the combination of climate, river and man's efforts gave rise to the first demarcated region to produce Port wine. Picturesque location, verdant landscapes and lush nature are what you will come across at first glance.
Make the first stop at the charming town of Amarante. This ancient town is filled with fine Romanesque architecture. While there, you will visit the 16th-century Monastery of São Goncalo, on the banks of the river, as well as the lovely Roman Bridge.
Leave Amarante, pass through Peso da Regua and arrive in Pinhao. Visit the traditional train station adorned with historic tiles depicting the region's culture.
Embark on a traditional Riverboat (Rebelo at Pinhão) and more spectacular scenery after lunch. Or continue the wine tour at the famous award-winning winery of Sandeman Quinta do Seixo.
