Itinerary
-
Kasprowy Wierch (1987 m.a.s.l.) - Beskid (2012 m.a.s.l.), Hala Gąsienicowa field - The Black Tarn - Jaworzynka Valley
The tour is led by an English speaking licensed Tatra mountain guide who is an expert in the field of natural sciences and the environment. The tour leader will familiarize you with the mountains, nature, history and culture of "Gorale" - local highlanders. Additionally, the mountain guide will bring scientific equipment like humidity, elevation, pressure and temperature probes, magnifiers and binoculars, which will help you understand nature better.
Start the tour in Kuznice, where you will use a modern cable car to get to the Kasprowy Wierch (1987 meters above sea level). It is a prominent summit at the Polish-Slovakian border with meteorological and astronomical observatories.
The tour continues through Beskid (2012 m), Liliowe Pass and reaches the meadows of Hala Gąsienicowa. You will find a laid-in stone shelter built in 1925 and have a lunch break.
Only 40-minutes from the shelter, there is a beautiful Black Tarn which you will visit after lunch. This excellent spot offers vistas over "Orla Perc", a sharp ridge of summits known as the most challenging trail in the Tatras.
The tour ends with a walk through Jaworzynka Valley, known for its historic pastures and old shepherd huts.
