Day 1: Arrival and Introduction to Local Life
- Arrive in Madang Province by plane at 10:30 AM. Upon arrival, change your SIM card to a Papua New Guinea SIM for communication and internet access during the tour.
- Collect water bottles, food supplies, and other necessary items for the island tour.
- Take a 1-hour drive from Madang town to the North coast of Madang. The road is in great condition, and the scenic views along the way are truly spectacular.
- Arrive at the port where speedboats are docked. Pack your cargo and take your seat on the speedboat, ready to cruise across the sea for a 1-hour journey. Raincoats, waterproof plastics, and life jackets will be provided, and it is important to pack essential items and wear the raincoat.
- As you approach the island, dolphins will greet you, welcoming you to the area. The island will become larger as you get closer. The island is large with two main languages spoken: Waskia and Takia. There are 11 ward councilors on the island.
- Upon arrival at the seaside, a pickup will be waiting to transport you to Dimer Village on the Waskia side of the island. Camp at the village for an authentic experience of local life.
- After settling in, enjoy a bath, relax with the locals, and have dinner before resting for the night.

Day 2: Exploring Nature and Local Culture
- Enjoy breakfast at 7:00 AM. After breakfast, get picked up for a bike tour around Karkar Island.
- The day will involve hiking and trekking on the dormant volcanic mountain, which was active in the 1980s but is now quiet. Visit a legendary well, once told by the forefathers to have been drunk dry by a dog. The well remains, even though it is dry.
- Take a tour to Magamerik, a legendary black stone in the sea, about 1 km from the island. The story behind this site will be shared during the tour.
- The tour will cover the Waskia side of the island, which is situated further inland, away from the sea.
- After the second-day tour, return to the village, pack up, and be transported to a guesthouse for the night. Check-in at Magahmarek Guest House, settle into your rooms, freshen up, and enjoy dinner before resting.

Day 3: Beach Experience and Traditional Culture
- After breakfast, witness the beautiful traditional attire worn by the locals, followed by traditional dancing. The villagers will perform a dance before going out for fishing. This dance is accompanied by songs passed down through generations.
- Observe a traditional tribal war dance, and learn about traditional painting on the attire, bilum weaving, and cooking methods using clay pots.
- After all the activities, head to the black sandy beach for a day of fishing, driving, and taking pictures with the locals.
- In the evening, enjoy a special traditional dish prepared for dinner.
- After the delicious dinner, rest well for the night, marking the end of your Karkar Island exhibition.
