Description
Go up this major mountain for it is one of the classic mountains to trek. With steep-slope ice terraces, majestic mountains, and glacier lakes, be mesmerized by the stunning Cordillera Blanca mountain range and more when you make it to the top!
Itinerary

Day 1- Huaraz (3100 m) – Yungay (2500 m) – Chopicalqui base camp at (4300 m) – Moraine Camp (4850 m)
Depart from Huaraz at 6:00 am. (Driving time: 3 hours. Trek time: 5 hours)
Drive towards the north side along Callejon de Huaylas until Yungay city.
Deviate toward Llanganuco Valley, passing by two beautiful glacier lakes in the Llanganuco Valley to the Chopicalqui, a big switchback at 4200 m.
Start walking up toward Moraine Camp at 4850 m with porters' support.
Overnight at Moraine camp.

Day 2- Chopicalqui Moraine Camp (4850 m) – High Camp (5400 m)
Walk up with the porters, who will load all the climbing stuff. Hike on the rocky part until edge the ice and then continue climbing up over easy slopes route to reach the High Camp on the southwest ridge. [Climbing time: 4 hours (ascent)]
Overnight at High Camp.

Day 3- Chopiclqui high camp (5400 m) - Chopicalqui summit (6354 m) – High camp (5400 m) - Moraine Camp (4850 m).
Have breakfast very early at 1:00 am and then start climbing up on the south-west ridge over steep snow and ice.
After 6 hours of climbing up, reach the top. From the summit, take the most magnificent pictures of several peaks around such as Pisco at 5752 m, Huandoy at 6395 m, Chacraraju at 6112 m, Contrahierbas Mountains at 6036 m and Peru's highest peaks, Mount Huascarán at 6768 m. [Climbing time: 4 hours (ascent & descent)]
Descend on the same route with rappels on difficult sites until the High camp – Moraine camp. Enjoy last night, camping at Moraine or Base Camp.

Day 4- Chopicalqui moraine camp/ base camp – Chopicalqui curve – Huaraz.
After breakfast, pick up the climbing gear and walk down toward the Chopicalqui curve, where the private transport is waiting to drive to Huaraz. [Climbing time: 4 hours (walk down)/driving time: 3 hours]
