Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 - Wayllabamba
Get an early transfer to km 82, the beginning of the Inca Trail.
Pass the checkpoint, and hike along the Urubamba River for 4 hours to the first Inca Site of Llaqtapata, where a delicious lunch is served by your expert trekking chef.
Enjoy your fresh meals, and hike upstream along the Cusichaca River to the village of Wayllabamba.
Camp near the local houses.
Total distance: 12 km (7.4 miles)

Day 2: Wayllabamba - Dead Women’s Pass - Pacaymayo
Wake up in your tent with a freshly brewed coffee and get ready for the most challenging day.
Eat breakfast, and start with a 6-hour hike to the highest pass in the Inca Trail: Dead Woman's Pass or Warmiwañusca (4200 m / 13,779 ft).
Reach the top, and you will have time to admire the wonderful view of the Andes.
Descend for 2 hours into the second campsite at Pacaymayo Valley (3600m / 11811 ft).
Hiking distance: 11 km (6.84 miles)
Approximate time: 7 - 8 hours

Day 3: Chaquicocha - Intipata - Wiñaywayna
Eat a delicious breakfast, and start a 2-hour ascent to the second pass at Runcuracay (4000 m / 13123 ft).
Continue for 2 hours down into the cloud forest for lunch at Chaquicocha.
Visit the impressive Inca sites of Runcuracay and Sayamarka along the way.
Eat lunch and hike for 4 hours down to the next campsite at Wiñaywayna (2600m – 8530ft).
Visit the Inca sites of Phuyupatarmaka, Intipata, and Wiñaywayna.
Total distance: 16 km (9.9 miles)

Day 4: Discover Machu Picchu
Start with a 1-hour early hike towards Inti Punku (2700m -8858ft), also Called Sungate, where you will catch your first glimpse of the mysterious Lost Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Enjoy the sunrise, and start descending for another hour to the archaeological complex. Your tour guide will take you on a tour exploring the most beautiful and important places of Machu Picchu.
Next is a free time to explore by yourself or either take the extra hike to Huayna Picchu (not included), before taking the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo and then a private van back to your hotel.
