Description
Join us in our community support program by signing up for a journey through the most beautiful trails in the Huaraz region of Peru. Trek through the Conococha pass, Siula Pass, and Trapecio Pass, the highest pass of the trek, and relax at the beautiful lakes of Siula and Jahuacocha. Be ready to get surprised on your first day when you will be taken to famous tourist places.
Itinerary

Day 1- Community Support Day
Meet your guide and spend the day settling in. You can also choose to give some donations to the nearby villages.
Head out and stop at attractive places like lakes and natural touristic places, or visit local artisans to know local traditions and culture.
Arrive at the community area to make donations. The Huaraz tour guides will donate the presence of contributors.
Return to hotel by 7 p.m.

Day 2- Hike to see the Pocpa Valley
Leave Huaraz for Llamac (5 hours drive) and head to the wild Puna Conococha pass (4500m), passing the southernmost peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. The Huayhuash range, containing seven of the highest and most dramatic summits in a single cluster in Peru, reveals itself on your descent to the small town of Llamac.
Continue going up through the Pocpa valley, and reach a peasant town from where you can buy some soda drinks for the sunny way.
Trek, and approx. at 1 pm, arrive in Pallca for lunch.
Walk and get to your camping site at Matacancha (4100 masl). Here, appreciate the scenic view of Ninashanca Mountain (5607 masl), and Rondoy (5870 masl).
Overnight camping at Cuartelhuain at (4200masl). (Distance covered- 167 km and time taken- 6 hours)

Day 3- Spot the Andean Rabbits while Trekking
Start your trek at 8 a.m. after having breakfast. (It is a challenging trek because the climb to the pass will take you about 2 or 3 hours.)
Descend and then ascend (approx 30 minutes) from the pass, and see the Andean rabbits called Vizcachas on your way.
Walk for 3 hours and reach the next pass. Enjoy the white peaked mountains such as Yerupaja, Jirishanca, and Siula.
Reach the campsite (approximately 5 or 6 pm) near a beautiful lake and prepare your tent.

Day 4- Visit the Siula Lake and Siula Pass
Start ascending after breakfast and (approx one hour) witness the three different colour lakes of Siula.
Get to the Siula Pass (4850 masl) and reach a scenic place next to the Carnicero lakes.
Descend for a few kilometres to reach the campsite (4350 masl) to have lunch.

Day 5- Trek to the Trapecio Pass
Ascend to the highest trek pass Trapecio Pass (5100m/16,404ft), and enjoy the marvellous views of the surrounding high mountains.
Descend over a rocky section and hike along the valley to camp at Huanacpatay (4300m/14,108ft).

Day 6- Stop at the Beautiful Village of Huayllapa
Set out at 8 am to start climbing (roughly two hours) to San Antonio Pass and behold a great view of the southwest Cordillera Huayhuash: looking at the mountains of Sarapo, Siula Grande, Yerupaja, Carnicero, Los Juraos and Trapecio. You can also see the lakes of Jurao.
Descend to Jurao Lake and stop to have lunch.
Continue to Huayllapa, a small isolated peasant village (3700 masl). Here, the small Andean shops will provide soda drinks, beers, and first-house necessities and stay for the night in the village.

Day 7- Trek to Tapush Pass
Reach the Tapush pass (4800masl) in about 5 hours and walk down an easy trail for about two hours.
Arrive at the camp place late in the afternoon.

Day 8- Witness the Beauty of Jahuacocha Lake
Have breakfast and trek to the Yaucha Pass (4800 masl). Stay at the pass for a couple of hours.
Continue going down the Huacrish ravine (for approximately three or four hours) after resting, and be surprised by a beautiful Jahuacocha lake at the base of the mountains of Jirishanca, Yerupaja, and Rondoy. This beautiful green colour lake lies at 4066 masl camp place.
Enjoy the spectacular avalanches coming down from the base of the mountains Jirishanca and head to your camp.
Find a typical mountain hut for sheepherders.

Day 9- Return Journey
Head to the easy walking route to the Pampallamac place, where you will say goodbye to the Huayhuash Mountains.
Descend, stop for lunch and descend again to the Llamac town.
Leave Llamac town, driving down along the Llamac river until Timpoc, where the Llamac and the Pacllon rivers join.
Start going up to Chiquian along the Ainin river, arriving at Chiquian.
Walk around the village, and continue to Huaraz on a 3-hour drive.
