Description
Ascend to Hatun Machay, one of the highest crags in the world (4290masl) with a mystic rock forest formed by the erosion of time. Since around 2005, it became popular for rock climbing.Travel by car to the starting point, venturing off-road for an exciting approach. Upon arrival, your guide will equip you for the climb and lead you to explore the unique rock formations. Enjoy a packed lunch before rappelling down and returning to Huaraz by car.

Hatun Machay Rock Forest Tour
Meet your guide at the agreed-upon location and depart from Huaraz around 8 a.m. after breakfast. You will be transported in a taxi or 4WD.
Drive in the southern Huaraz for about 8 km on a paved way.
Propel an unpaved trail for about 15 km to get to Hatun Machay.
Arrive around 10 am approx. Start preparing materials for climbing and visiting the rocks with your Hatun Machay climbing guide.
Have lunch at the proper time, which you must take from Huaraz, some snacks, sandwiches or a lunch box.
Return to Huaraz. The car will be waiting for you. Arrive at Huaraz around 6 pm.
