Day 1: Navigating the Amazon River
In Iquitos, you will be greeted by the staff and transferred to the Iquitos port. Alternatively, travel by highway to the San Joaquin port. We then board a comfortable boat to navigate the longest, widest, and most voluminous river in the world, the Amazonas. We then navigate a tributary of the Amazon, the Yanayacu River, to reach our lodge.
After lunch, depart for an afternoon and evening adventure along the Corrientes, Purura, and the Yanayaku tributary. Embark on a boat trip in search of a range of birds: horned screamers, tapaculos, horneros, parrots, muscovy ducks, cormorants, jacanas, blue and yellow macaws, etc.
Disembark the boat for a walk-in Igapo forest, a seasonally-flooded primary jungle, to find land animals (monkeys, reptiles, insects, etc.). While walking, you will be amazed at the huge size of the kapok or Lupuna tree Ceiba Pentandra as it towers over the other rainforest vegetation.
After the walk, we board the boat to observe the beautiful Amazon sunset!
Gaze at the night sky and marvel at the stunning stars creating constellations of the Southern Hemisphere. After dinner, relax and listen to the sounds of the forest.

Day 2: Explore the Lakes and the Jungle
Explore the lakes Corrientes and Purura, and the tributary Yanayaku by boat in search of iguanas, sloths, different monkeys species, and the many species of birds.
View one of the largest aquatic plants in the world, the Victoria Regia Water Lilies. The gigantic floating leaves can measure up to 3 meters across.
After lunch, continue the boat excursion. Also, observe one of the most beautiful Amazon River species, the grey and pink dolphins. Swim by their side and use a hydrophone and speaker to listen to their low-frequency sounds.
Returning to the lodge, our search continues for caimans, night birds, bats, tarantulas, frogs, fish, fireflies, etc.
After dinner, a night walk in the Igapo forest affords an experience of the rainforest's nocturnal wonders. Be surrounded by jungle sounds while finding unique and diverse creatures. Find beautiful tree frogs, cane toads, night monkeys, tarantulas, scorpions, and other arachnids, insects, sleeping birds, snakes, lizards.
