Tour around the ultimate nature conservation area - habitat of the Condor, big and majestic birds worshiped by our ancestors, and more. To get to the observation area, take just a little walk to reach there and witness nature in all its beauty.

Itinerary

CHONTA CANYON THE HABITAT OF THE ANDEAN CONDOR
- Start the tour at 8 am, taking the highway to Lima with breathtaking views of the mountain.
- Visit the Incan ruins of Quillarumiyoc, a moon calendar and then proceed towards the pass of Wilky.
- Drive downwards to the town of Limatambo for lunch.
- Drive up the hill to the community of Chonta, where you start the walk to the observation area and reach by 13:30 pm.
- Head over to the view point of the Condor and stay for 2 hours at least.
- Return to the control point by 17:30 pm, and back to Cusco by 8 pm.

Know Before You Go

Because its a new tour in the high lands and to protect the habitat of the Andean Condor, we cannot organize big groups of more than 15 passengers; otherwise we can disturb the nature.

The road to get to the community of Chonta is narrow and lot of curves so small transportation available, minibus or van are allowed, this conservation area is managed by the Municipality of Limatambo which are improving gradually the access to this pristine area.

The price is base on 2 passengers minimum.
