Day 1: Highlands of Chonta Condor Viewpoint
Depart from the hotel at 05:00 am and drive through highlands to Chonta Condor viewpoint.
Indulge in a coffee break before trekking to the Apurimac Canyon. During the one-and-a-half-hour trek, get a chance to witness spectacular scenery. Spot some highland birds and watch the Condor’s flight over the Apurimac Canyon, the largest flying land birds in the Western Hemisphere.
Travel back to the Chonta community for an exquisite lunch.
Drive towards the Mollepata Ecolodge. Enjoy bird-watching en route as the region is abundant with various species of birds such as White-eared Puffbird, Cream-breasted Canastero and more.
Check into your accommodation and enjoy dinner.
Witness two specific owl species; Koepcke’s Screech-Owl (endemic) and Buff-fronted Owl on a late-night birding session.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Trekking and Birdwatching on Salkantay Mountain
Take an early morning walk around the ecolodge to observe birds that live in semi-tropical forests.
Embark on the journey to Salkantay Mountain. En route, enjoy spotting specific birds that exists exclusively in this elfin forest.
Arrive in Soraypampa, indulge in spotting some more highland birds such as Koepcke’s Screech-Owl (endemic), Vilcabamba Tapaculo (endemic), Apurimac Spinetail (endemic), White-bellied Woodstar, etc.
Journey back to Cusco.
Drop-off at the hotel.
