Itinerary

Day 1- Iquitos - Capinuri Lodge
- Connect with your tour guide at the reception of Francisco Secada Viñeta Airport or from your hotel in the city, to start the program itinerary.
- Transfer and arrive at Bellavista Nanay Port where we will take a short tour of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, before boarding the boat we will learn about the gastronomy of Iquitos.
- After that, we will begin the navigation in the Amazon River aboard comfortable and safe typical boats. The trip through the Amazon River will allow you to appreciate a wonderful panorama in which the magnificence of the river makes its way through the exuberance of the jungle, travel time 1:30 hrs approx.
- Visit the "Yaguas Native tribe" whose ancestors were discovered by Francisco de Orellana in his first exploration of the Amazon in 1541. This visit will allow you to learn about their ancestral customs, appreciate their original palm fibre clothing and even test their aim with the "pucuna" (blowpipe) that the Yaguas used for centuries for hunting.
- Upon arrival at Capinuri Lodge, get a short explanation of the rules that govern the sustainability of the lodge. After lunch, your accommodation will be arranged according to the type of room selected. Typical self-service lunch (if vegetarian, inform in advance).
- Next, we will go to the Wildlife Rescue Center, to observe and interact with some of the varieties of wild animals in their wildlife, such as sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans, boa constrictors and turtles. It will be an interesting way to learn to value and respect the typical wildlife of our Amazon.
- After this activity, we will go in search of the grey and pink dolphins in the Amazon river.
- Observe the beautiful sunset over the Amazon (depending on weather conditions).
- Later, post dinner, your guide will tell you when the excursion on foot will begin, which will take you to discover the mysterious world of nocturnal insects, cicadas, spiders, mantises, snakes, etc.
- Head back to the Lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 2- Capinuri Lodge
- Observe the Amazon sunrise and enjoy birdwatching. During the early hours of the morning, it is the right time to observe many of the bird species that feed on the banks of the river.
- Have your breakfast at the lodge. Then your guide will tell you the exact time to start the next excursion.
- Then, we will get ready to undertake the Artisanal Fishing tour. Here the guide will guide us to the local techniques of piranha fishing or other species with the same material that the man of the jungle uses for subsistence purposes.
- After lunch in the lodge, we will get ready to visit San Juan de Huashalado village in order to learn about the customs of the inhabitants of the area and play and share with them.
- Later, post dinner, we will go out in a canoe to go in search and catch alligators to learn about the life cycle, and their main role in nature and then we will release them.
Overnight stay in the Lodge.

Day 3- Capinuri Lodge
- Eat your breakfast and navigate through the Yanayacu River. Observe the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world.
- Walk through the primary jungle, the kingdom of giant trees; we will observe the Lupuna and Tarzan liana among others.
- We will learn about the medical plants and how to make our natural repellent with termites.
- Return to the lodge for lunch.
- In the afternoon, observe the largest Aquatic Lilac in the world, the Amazonian Victoria Regia, visit the riverside town of San Rafael, observation of what the Amazon population grows, culture, traditions, and daily activities.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4- Capinuri Lodge - Iquitos
- Have your breakfast, then tour the Amazon River and visit the private project for the preservation of monkeys (Monkey Island). In it, 5 varieties of monkeys will be known, some of them in danger of extinction.
- Go to Pedrito farm and observe the largest freshwater fish, Victoria Regia (lily path as know as lotus flower) and caimans.
- In the afternoon, serve yourself a typical self-service lunch.
- Later, return to the city of Iquitos and transfer to the hotel or airport.
