Altitude Awareness – Prepare for high-altitude conditions (Cayambe: 5,897 m / 19,347 ft, Chimborazo: 6,263 m / 20,549 ft). Acclimatization is key. Understand symptoms of altitude sickness like headaches, nausea, and dizziness, and be prepared to take it slow.

Training – Consider training at higher elevations or doing day hikes in similar conditions before the trip to better prepare your body for altitude.

2. Travel Documentation:

Passport – Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

Energy – Bring high-energy snacks like nuts, granola bars, or chocolate for the ascent. A proper breakfast and lunch are included, but portable snacks can help maintain energy.

Transportation – Travel by private transport is included, but confirm any pick-up or drop-off details for your arrival in Quito and return to the airport.

Climb Cayambe and Chimborazo 9-days

The Cayambe is part of the Central Northern Mountain range, and it includes other important snow-capped peaks such as the Cotopaxi. From the hut, you can admire and easily access the glacier an ideal place to practice some mountaineering activities.
