Nizwa Fort - Nizwa Souq - Al Hamra Old Village - Misfah Al Arbeyeen - Jebel Shams
- We will depart from Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman.
- We will pay a visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the fort is a museum showcasing the fort's history and the surrounding area. Walking through the fortress, you see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the most brutal attacks and sieges. Next to the fortress is the large Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods, including jewellery, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on!
- Afterwards, we will take off to Al Hamra to visit the village, where we experience how the locals create a lifestyle in the older times.
- After this quick tour, we will move on to Misfah al Abryeen, a new village that nestles at the base of Jebel Shams. Here, you will see the extensive Falaj water system that supplies water to the nearby vegetation. Numerous marked footpaths throughout the village are recommended for you to take your time and explore.
- From the village, we will drive up to Jebel Shams Mountain, the Grand Canyon of Oman. The canyon itself is enough to lose yourself in wonder. Walking around, there is so much to see and be amazed by.
- Once late afternoon arrives, we will depart back to Muscat.
