Itinerary
-
Day 1: Muscat - Bimmah Sink Hole - White Sands Beach - Wadi Shab - Ras Al Hadd
- We leave Muscat with a drive on the coastal road, a very scenic route perfect for photo opportunities. We stop for a visit at the Bimah Sinkhole for photos and, if you like, a swim in the blue and green water of the sinkhole.
- Soon after we will visit the White sands beach of Fins where you will see the gorgeous, vast white sand beaches.
- From Fins, we will continue to Wadi Shab. The Wadi Shab is a huge canyon gorge that has its own paradise. Filled with palm trees and other greenery, the mountain truly has character.
- Around a 35-minute hike up through the wadi, we reach the end where we take a chance to relax and enjoy the nature of Oman.
- Soon after, the tour continues to Ras al Had.
- We will quickly check-in to our camp where we can build our camping tents and then make our way to the turtle sanctuary in Ras Al Jinz.
- At this point, the evening sky will take over and we will take a guided tour on the beautiful beach under the stars where we have a good chance of seeing Oman’s great sea turtles making their way onto the beach to build their nests and lay their eggs. If we are lucky, we may see baby turtles hatching from the eggs.
-
Day 2: Sur - Dhow Factory - Qalhat - Wadi Tiwi - Muscat
- After a great breakfast, we continue a sightseeing tour in Sur. Sur is one of the most important towns on the northern Omani cape, and something fascinating in Sur is one of the last Omani shipyards.
- We will take you to one of the small workshops where traditional Omani boats are still made by hand.
- Soon after, we will stop at the 16th Century tomb of Bibi Al Battuta in the second quarter of the 14th century.
- On returning to Muscat, our tour will stop in Wadi Tiwi. This wadi is beautiful, with some small villages and a large banana plantation.
- After this visit, we return to Muscat.
