Mackenzie Basin Highlights Tour
Meet your tour guide and leave Christchurch early in the morning.
Pick up in a 2005 Nissan Caravan (10-seater).
Drive 120 km across the Canterbury Plains to Geraldine and stop for a break.
Visit the unique souvenir shop which has farm animals, set up in an old shearing shed.
Drive through the rolling hills and enjoy some of the best rural scenery of South Island.
Climb up through Burkes Pass into the Mckenzie Basin at an altitude of 700 meters.
Visit the magnificent Lake Tekapo.
Spend some time embarking on the sceneries around the Church of The Good Shepherd.
Drive alongside Lake Pukaki towards the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park and stop to take some photos.
Enjoy a homemade picnic lunch in a stunning location, prepared by the tour guide.
Go for a short one-hour hike in the National Park.
Visit National Park HQ or take a break at the hotel.
Drive home and arrive in Christchurch at 7:00 pm.
