Description
Embark on a trek to Gosainkunda by taking the route of Langtang to acclimatize yourself for the higher elevation, 4610 m, in the Gosainkunda region. Experience the religious atmosphere of Gosainkunda arriving through a spectacular route decorated with cascading waterfalls and quaint villages. Take a 360-degrees view of the mountains in Kyanjin Ri. Be a part of the legend as the place is mythologically believed to have been created by Lord Shiva to extinguish the burning sensation in his throat brought about by drinking poison during Samundra Manthan (The Churning of the Ocean).
Itinerary

Day 1- Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Land at the airport and directly arrive at the hotel for check-in and refreshment.
Later in the evening, attend a small meeting for the trip ahead.

Day 2- Kathmandu Sightseeing
Prepare for sightseeing and trek. After breakfast, embark on a guided tour to major historical, cultural, and spiritual attractions of the valley, including World Heritage Sites.
Visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swoyambhunath) and the Buddhist shrine (Boudhanath).
Provide more information on your forthcoming trip, equipments and team composition for finalizing official procedure and other necessary arrangements.
Later in the afternoon, start preparations and shopping for any personal items you may have forgotten for the ultimate trip of a lifetime.

Day 3- Drive Kathmandu from Syabrubesi (1,550m/5084ft) 145 km- 7 hrs
Start early for a long road journey of 7 to 8 hours to Syabrubesi, which is the start point of the trek. Journey through small pristine villages and terraced hills on the banks of the Trishuli River.
Get to view the enchanting panorama of the Himalayas, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region.

Day 4- Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2470m/8,101ft): 5-6 hrs.
After a hearty breakfast, embark on our journey traversing the ridge on Syabru Besi’s main road and soon reach Ghopcha Khola.
Trek through terraced fields and dense forest, having various plant species like oaks, maple, alder and bamboo.
See the yellow-throated martin, wild boar, langur monkey, red panda and Himalayan black bear en route.
Cross to the north bank of the Langtang Khola amid the spectacular vistas of cascading waterfalls.
Arrive in the scrub oak forest. On reaching 2470 meters, get into the Lama Hotel, the ultimate destination for the day.

Day 5- Trek Lama Hotel from Langtang (3430m/11,250ft): 5- 6 hrs.
After having breakfast, continue the trek ascending above the Langtang Khola.
See the most exotic sites as the trail to Langtang Lirung, lying at 7246 meters, keeps up progressing and becoming steeper.
Head to a log bridge and climb further to come across the lush meadows of Ghora Tabela at 3000 m. Find several lodges and a police check post here.
Further on, walk the route as it opens up into a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages with water-driven mills and prayer wheels.
After reaching a height of 3500 meters and crossing a stream, arrive at Langtang village. Langtang village is the headquarters for Langtang National Park and has flat-roofed Tibetan style houses, hotels and cultivated lands yielding buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips, barley etc.

Day 6- Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m/12,693ft): 4-5 hrs
Skirt through rich yak pastures and interesting traditional villages of Muna to Singdun. Cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine.
Ascend the mountain passes, and arrive at Kyagjin Gompa, where there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory famous for its production of cheese and curd products. The short trek allows to acclimatize and explore the surrounding.

Day 7- Kyanjin Gompa Exploration
Rest and explore the quaint village of Kyanjin Gompa.
Explore the monastery and local cheese factory in this region. Get to sample some of its products.
Hike to Kyanjin Ri, located at 4350 m, to enjoy the amazing 360-degree views of snow-capped mountains.
Take a walk to the foot of the huge Lirung Glacier.
Lunch will be served at the Guest House and after a short rest, stroll around the Kyanjin valley with the guide.

Day 8- Trek back to Lama Hotel (2470m/8,101ft): 5-6 hrs.
From Kyanjin, we take the route back to Lama Hotel. Retrace your steps to follow the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. Stop briefly for lunch and thereafter continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel.

Day 9- Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2250m/7,380ft): 5-6 hrs
Head to Thulo Syabru Besi. Walk along the undulating path leading to the village and get an insight into the culture and custom of the Tamang community.
Pass through pine and juniper forests and get magnificent views of Langtang Himal.

Day 10- Trek from Thulo Syabru to Shing Gomba (3330m/10,922ft): 3-5 hrs
Trek to Dimsa village and through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Shin Gomba monastery, which is well known in Nepal for its cheese production.
View the Langtang Himalaya and Langtang village on the trail.

Day 11- Trek from Shing Gomba to Gosainkunda (4380m/14,366ft): 5-6 hrs
After a hearty breakfast, continue the trail to Gosainkunda (lake). Gosainkunda is a very sacred lake of Lord Shiva and pilgrims from all over visit this place to take a ritual cleansing bath in the holy waters.
Ascend through rhododendron covered forests. Walk through the Shing Gomba and Laurebina Yak, a sanctuary for the Red Panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. Catch a sight of this animal.
Return to the ridge path and climb a wider route to arrive at Gosainkunda where we get to explore the lakes. The view is simply amazing.

Day 12- Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte (3430m/11,250ft): 6-8 hrs
Climb some rough sections and cross several moraines.
Cross three small pristine lakes before ascending to Laurebina La (4,609m/15,121ft) and then descend to Phedi.

Day 13- Trek from Ghopte to Malemchigaon (2530m/8,298ft): 6-7 hrs
Climb through a forested area before crossing through a dry riverbed to arrive at a Kharka, which is surrounded by rhododendron forest.
From Kharka, climb uphill hike through the forest to arrive at the village of Thare Pati. Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvellous view of the Jugal area.
Cross the village and enter another forested area before descending to the Melamchi River.
Take another uphill hike to Melamchi Gaun(village) (2,560m) for overnight.

Day 14- Trek from Malemchigaon to Tarke Ghyang (2600m/8528ft): 5-7 hrs
Visit the cultural centre of the Helambu Region. Move to Tarke Gyang, an ethnic Sherpa village, where culture and traditions are age-old.
Explore the narrow alleys of this ancient and quaint village of the Sherpa's of Helambu.

Day 15- Trek from Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang (2590m/8495ft): 3-5 hrs.
Take a leisurely hike through a wide valley between Parachin and Gangyul villages.
Explore villages and the area's culture. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism which is the same as the national religion of Bhutan.

Day 16- Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar -Kathmandu: 4 hrs trek & 2 hrs Drive
Take a short hike down to the Melamchi Pul (bridge) Bazaar, where you can catch the transport back to Katmandu.
Attend a farewell dinner hosted on the completion of the trek!

Day 17- Departure
- Arrive at the airport to fly back home. Leave Nepal with an incredible sojourn and an experience of a lifetime.
- If you have time and interest, you can extend your stay and take optional treks to other areas of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Darjeeling or Sikkim or participate in other activities in Nepal like wildlife safari.
