Itinerary

1. Day 1- Kathmandu - Kerung Border

   • Depart from Kathmandu to the Tibet Border called Kerung.

   • After immigration formalities at the border, meet your Tibetan guide and driver.

   • After some briefing, drive to the Guest House for an overnight stay. 

2. Day 2- Kerung

   • Acclimatize at Kerong before further driving.

   • In the afternoon, be free to look around the area.

   Overnight at Guest House. 

3. Day 3- Kerung - Saga

   • Start the day with a long drive on the desert terrain. Drive past nomad camps and sheep and yak herds. 

   • See Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal from the pass.

   • Continue to drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and Peiku Tso Lake (4400 m). 

   • Then, cross the Brahmaputra river ( “Yarling Tsangpo” in Tibetan ) to finally reach Saga (4600 m).

   Overnight in Guest House. 

4. Day 4- Saga - Paryang - Mansarovar

   • Watch the mountains from a distance and drive through the road. 

   • Pass through the small town of Zhongba before reaching Paryang, which offers the first view of Mt Kailash.

   • Then, go to the historic Chiu Monastery on the North West shore of the lake. 

   • From this vantage point, have a glimpse of  Manasarovar, the highest freshwater lake with a turquoise complexion surrounded by Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata and Lake Rakchyas.

   Overnight in Guest House. 

5. Day 5- Darchen

   • After spending some peaceful hours at the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata, drive 40 km to Darchen, which serves as the base for Mt Kailash kora.

   Overnight in Guest House.

6. Day 6- Dira-Puk

   • Walk along the beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls. The 15 km trail will take almost 7 hrs.

   Overnight in Guest House.

7. Day 7- Dira Puk - Zuthul Puk

   • Today, cross the Dolma La pass at 5670 m.

   • Once you reach the top, make the holiest offering and sit down for meditation.

   • By late afternoon, arrive at Zuthul Puk, where the great ascetic Milerappa is believed to have performed miracles.

   Overnight at local Guest House.

8. Day 8- Saga

   • Head to Lake Manasarovar and further to Saga.

   Overnight at Guest House.

9. Day 9- Kerung

   • Drive back the same way to Kerung Border.

   Overnight at Hotel.

10. Day 10- Kerung - Kathamndu

    • Drive Back to Kathamndu from the Kerung Border.
