Description
Listen to the legend of Manakamana Temple dating back to the reign of the Gorkha king Ram Shah during the 17th century, and learn about Manakamana Goddess. It is believed that his queen possessed divine powers, which only her devotee Lakhan Thapa knew about. One day, the king witnessed his queen in Goddess incarnation and Lakhan Thapa in the form of a lion. Upon mentioning the revelation to his queen, a mysterious death befell the king. As per the custom of that time, the queen committed Sati (ritual immolation) on her husband’s funeral pyre.
Itinerary

Pay a visit to Manakamana Temple
- Early morning, we will drive to Kurintar from Kathmandu, which is about 4 hours.
- Reach Kurintar cable car station and ride to Manakamana Temple for a short visit.
- Spend a few hours seeing around and go to the temple to worship the goddess.
- Later, we will take the cable car again to go down.
- Once we reach down, the driver will collect us and drive us to Kathmandu.
Stay overnight at the hotel.
