For this expedtion, we follow the weather. Wherever the sky looks clearest, that's the direction we will be heading to.

This might be either the outer islands with spectacular small islands and secluded beaches or we drive towards the west into the inland of the Troms area with its majestic mountains and fjords.

Description

Experience standing under the dancing northern lights, either somewhere in the surrounding majestic mountains or on one of our hidden secluded beaches.

Get the feel of how and why humans in earlier times were fascinated (and frightened) by the lights and get a deeper understanding of the magic, that still enchants us humans today. At the same time, learn about the newest insights about the lights found by our world renowned scientists. New science, and still there are unsolved secrets in our vast universe.

Did you know Tromsø is also called the city of the northern lights? We are right under the aurora oval, which makes it the ideal starting point for our northern lights expedition.

This is my favourite tour. I actually moved to Tromsø many years ago to live my life under the northern lights. Every night again, when I am out hunting the lights I am thrilled and excited and humbled by the majesty of our universe.

Itinerary

Enchanting lights and entrancing stories

This tour can start and end from any downtown hotel, the downtown cruise ship terminal or any central point. The order of our tour will vary according to the starting point and depend on wind and weather.
The itinerary can be customized according to your needs and interests. I can also create a shorter or longer customized tour for you.
Depending on weather conditions and the northern lights, the tour will last between four and five hours. As the northern lights are unpredictable (just like the weather up in the Arctic), this tour will be flexible and will be adapted to conditions.
