Itinerary
-
Day 1: Explore Markets & Museums
- Start your tour at the National Museum of Lagos and learn about the historical and cultural values of the country. You also can take mind-blowing selfies here if you are the picture taking person.
- Head to the Lekki Conservation Center, where you will immerse yourself in nature, spot animals such as monkeys, birds, tortoises, and peacocks, and climb above the trees on the longest canopy walkway in Africa. The boulevard of coconut trees is a romantic place to stroll, and there are lots of places for a picnic.
- Next, explore Lekki Art and Craft Market and get the chance to buy local art pieces with the guidance of your host without spending so much.
- Visit Freedom Park. Freedom Park is a memorial and leisure park area in the middle of downtown Lagos in Lagos Island, Nigeria. Formerly Her Majesty's Broad Street Prison, it has recently been turned into a cultural center. It was designed by Architect Theo Lawson and was constructed to preserve Nigeria's history and cultural heritage.
-
Day 2: Shopping, Art Appreciation & Beach
- Start the second day at Ikeja City Mall, which comprises 100 stores with a desirable mix of retailers trading renowned quality brands. You will not only be spoilt for a choice of shops and the best meals, but there are also fun centres for kids to play in as well as a cinema for movie lovers.
- Continue to the National Art Theatre. Located in Iganmu, it is the primary center for the performing arts in Nigeria. Its construction was completed in 1976 in preparation for the Festival of Arts and Culture in 1977
- Next, explore the Nike Art Gallery. The gallery is arguably the largest of its kind in West Africa, owned by Nike Davies-Okundaye. Housed in a five-story tall building, it boasts a collection of about 8,000 diverse artworks from various Nigerian artists. If you are an art lover, the gallery will blow your mind away.
- Unwind at the Elegushi Beach. The beach is owned by the Elegushi royal family in Lekki, Lagos state. Elegushi private beach is seen as one of the best beaches in Lagos and Nigeria. It offers exquisite restaurants, nightclubs, and hangout spots that feature local food and various live shows, including music and jamboree, all week. It also hosts Copa Lagos – a world-famous beach soccer tournament that features the best teams from all continents. Its white sand beach and rippling waves that lap the shoreline provide the ultimate relaxation and fun for any person.
