Description
Be a part of the Cure Salee Festival in Northern Niger, usually announced in the third week of September. Enjoy the show with dancing, beauty pageants, and music held over three days and draws a crowd of thousands from neighbouring countries- Nigeria, Benin, and Libya. As they bring in the dry season, new friendships are made, and marriages are held as cultural traditions are displayed. Although the festival is one of the most popular and unique in Africa, it is a hidden gem for the rest of the world.
Itinerary

Day 1, September 23: Arrive in Niamey
- Welcome to Niger! Today as you arrive in Niamey, meet our guide transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 2, September 24: Niamey - Agadez
- Transfer to the airport for your flight from Niamey to Agadez at approximately 6 AM. Upon arrival at around 2:30 pm, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in.
- Later this afternoon, visit the cattle market - a point of gathering for Touregs and a place of barter exchanges.
Get back to the hotel for dinner at the restaurant.
Breakfast and lunch included today. Dinner excluded.

Day 3, September 25: Agadez
- Travel to the top of the ancient city of Agadez, which is also a classified Unesco World Heritage Site. Explore the city center and its market.
- Visit the sultanate - marche artisanal. Have lunch and later this afternoon transfer to the hotel for the evening.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included today.

Day 4, September 26: Savannah of Abalak
- Depart from the hotel in the morning for Abalak. Here is a meeting area for the nomads and their herd of cattle.
- Stop at Abalak, the last big city before camp peulhs Gerewol site.
- Set up the bivouac and prepare dinner.
Breakfast, lunch (picnic), and dinner included today.

Day 5 & 6, September 27-28: Gerewol - Bororo Festival in the Savannah
- Today marks the start of the festival! The next couple of days will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the ceremony with dance, songs, visiting different camps, and much more. Be amongst the nomadic people who have travelled far and have a chance to experience ancient traditions and rituals.

Day 7, September 29: Savannah of Abalak - Tahoua
- Depart from the ceremonial grounds this morning, make your way to Tahoua. See some nomadic Tuareg camps.
Overnight at Tarka Hotel in Tahoua. Half board.

Day 8, September 30: Tahoua - Mosques of Yama
- Depart Tahoua and stop at the Yama Hausa Village, where you will notice the Sudanese architecture and several mosques
- From here, head to the Dogondoutchi to attend the dance of possession (Bori).
Overnight at the Magama Hostel. Half board.

Day 9, October 1: Niamey
- Via Dosso, depart Dogondoutchi. Along the way, stopping at Djermakoye Palace.
- From here, travel towards Kourse to experience the last herds of giraffes in freedom in West Africa.
- Enjoy a picnic along the way before returning to Niamey. Upon arrival in Niamey, transfer to the hotel to freshen up.
- End your tour with a transfer to the airport for your international flight out.
