Itinerary

1. Stop 01: Maputo cathedral

   • You will meet your tour guide and start the tour in Maputo Cathedral. The cathedral is one of the most attractive buildings in the city and marks the presence of European Christians in Mozambique. 

2. Stop 02: Tunduro Garden

   • The garden was built by Thomas Honey in 1885, there are exotic plants, and the biggest attraction of the garden is the 'Bats Empire' a unique place to see bats.

3. Stop 03: Samora Machel statue

   • Samora Machel was the first president of Mozambique and was very charismatic. Unfortunately, he died in an aeroplane crush Mozambique - South Africa border.

4. Stop 04: Iron House

   • The house was built by Gustav Eiffel and was bought in an international exhibition in Belgium to be the house of a Portuguese governor living in Maputo. Still, he couldn't live there because of weather conditions.

5. Stop 05: Maputo Railway Station

   • It was once considered as the 3rd most beautiful railway station by the USA magazine Times. There you can see the first trains, and there is a good view of the longest suspension bridge in Africa ( Maputo - Catembe bridge)

6. Stop 06: Maputo Fortress

   • The fortress is now a military museum, and handicrafts represent Mozambique's history. You will also see the statue of the Portuguese António Enes, Mouzinho de Albuquerque and a coffin containing the remains of the king of the Gaza empire.

7. Stop 07: Central Market

   • That is a good place to buy souvenirs, fruits and spices.
