Description
Enjoy the experience the climb to the Paricutin Volcanic Crater, which erupted in 1943, and is well known as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World today (CNN 1997 poll). The 4x4 truck drive is the easy way to reach the bottom of the volcano, and then start the climb to the top of the Paricutin and feel the heat of sulfur steam. After the climb, find the way to the remains of the local church that was destroyed by the eruptions of this volcano, when the lava flows reached the homes.

Paricutin Volcanic Crater Tour
- After leaving Morelia early in the morning, drive by avocado plantations to one of the farming towns and meet a local Indian guide who is in charge of driving the 4X4 truck and climbing to the top of the volcano.
- From here, the hike to the top is about 1 hour on the rocky path for climbing the crater in a shortcut.
- Once you find yourself at the summit, enjoy the 360-degree view.
- After 6 hours, on the way back to the truck, you can enjoy watching the remains of the local church that was crashed down by the lava flows.
