Martinique Island Tour
- Meet the tour guide ans start the tour of Martinique, admiring Fort De France's natural splendours on a guided tour of its lush botanical gardens, with tropical flora and an elevated suspension bridge. Before exploring its diverse vegetation, learn about the island's rich cultural heritage and local horticulturalists.
- See 3,000 varieties of colourful tropical flowers and plants, including hibiscus, roses, wild orchids, bamboo, and palm trees. Stroll among the trees along a suspension bridge perched above the rainforest gardens.
- Visit a mini replica of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre in Paris, built-in 1925, the Church of Balata. It is located on Fort de France's heights and offers a panoramic view of the city and its bay.
- Travel on a scenic route that takes you past Martinique's majestic rainforest, characterised by its thriving tropical vegetation, exotic birds, and wild animals.
- Embark on a ten-minute ride that will take you to Saint-Pierre - perhaps the most famous place in Martinique, but for tragic reasons. In 1902, a volcanic eruption killed 30,000 people in the city. The only survivor was a prisoner held in an underground dungeon.
- Return to Fort-de-France via several fishing villages, including Le Carbet, where Christophe Colomb landed in 1502. Paul Gauguin lived there and painted there in 1887. Passing through Bellefontaine, observe the boat-shaped house and the village of Schœlcher, named after the man who fought for the liberation of slaves in the French Antilles.
