Description
Embark on a long tour of Mongolia starting from Ulaanbaatar and visiting its landmarks of Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar Square and the National Museum. Enjoy the view from the top of Urantogoo Mountain and Khorgo volcano, trek in the valley of the waterfall "ulaantsutgalan", and explore the modern museum of Kharkhorum and see one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Mongolia
Upon arrival in Mongolia, get assistance at the Ulaanbaatar Airport and transfer to the hotel.
Check in and have free time to freshen up a bit before starting the city tour with your Mongolian guide.
See the places of interest like the Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar Square and the National Museum.
You will enjoy a grilled lunch with wine at a local restaurant during the tour.
Return to the hotel and have free time.
Eat dinner in a restaurant.

Day 2: Drive to the Uran Togoo Mountain
Drive to the Urantogoo Mountain. Today, you will drive to the mountain called Uran Togoo, an extinct volcano located about 60kms from Bulgan city. The area is situated in the Khutag-Undur district of Bulgan province.
Stay overnight in a Mongolian ger. (Lunch and Dinner)

Day 3: Lake Khuvsgul
Another day of driving will finally bring you to Lake Khuvsgul, the right place to enjoy a well-deserved rest after several days of driving. Lake Khuvsgul, located in the northwest of Mongolia near the border with Russia is about 1100m above sea level, 136 km long and 262 m deep. It is the second most freshwater lake in Asia. The town of Khatgal is at the southern end of the Lake. The lake is surrounded by several mountain ranges. The surface of the lake freezes over completely in winter and the ice festival organized annually in early February is becoming quite an attractive event during winter tourism in Mongolia.

Day 4: Taiga, Tsaatan Families
Taiga, Tsaatan families, reindeer herders are the main attractions for tourists. Once you get to the lake, have free time to wander around the lake and hike around before the dinner will be served.
May do various activities such as swimming, hiking horseback riding. You may as well as laze around by the vast blue expanse of the lake.
Drive to Tsaatan (reindeer) family for experiencing the lifestyle of taiga forest people and get back in the evening. If you want to hiking around the mountains, you will see the brilliant view of the lake.
In the evening, have free time for taking photos and do some fishing there.
Stay overnight in a Mongolian traditional ger camp.

Day 5: Hiking and Climbing
Travel from the lake to Arkhangai province by bus.
Do hiking and climbing to Khorgyn togoi /erupted volcano.
Observe from the top. Khorgo volcano is surrounded by the Khangai mountains. Most area of the national park is covered by peach forest. Khorgo volcano is situated at an altitude of 2210m, 200m wide, 100m deep. Lake Terkh is 16km wide 20 km long, 20m deep. The lake is extremely beautiful with freshwater and rich species of fish and birds. It’s really picturesque area and an amazing spot for taking photos. And there is also a beautiful river beside the volcano. Terkhyn tsagaan lake has a lot of stories.

Day 6: Ulaantsutgalan
After a heavy rain, this magnificent seasonal waterfall, also called "ulaantsutgalan", is one of the best attractions in central Mongolia. About 25m downstream from the waterfall and 22m deep, the water doesn't run all year and only starts to flow after the first good summer rain. Mid-July and August is the best time to see it. If it's not raining, you could consider your travel schedule to visit later in summer. But it's still a gorgeous and nice area for camping and horseriding.
Enjoy horse trekking in the valley and stay in nomadic families ger guesthouses.

Day 7: Kharkhorin City
After breakfast, drive to Kharhorum city. Kharkhorin is the first capital of the empire of Mongolia. The city is located 376 km far away from Ulaan Baatar. There is the first Buddist monastery, the centre of Buddhism in Mongolia "erdenezuu monastery".
Check out the modern museum ”Kharkhorum" which shows the history and culture of every period of empires of Mongolia. Kharkhorum museum is rich with archaeological findings. The Monastery was constructed in the style of the Tibetian Buddhist monastery which was originally constructed in 1585, 434 years ago since now.
For accommodation, it’s possible to choose either a nomadic family or a house camp.

Day 8: Nomadic Life
Spend one day as a nomad and have a relaxing day.

Day 9: Largest Monasteries in Mongolia
Proceed to one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia. The Monastery was originally established in 1660. It consists of 2 temples complexes on the north and south banks of the Ongi River.

Day 10: Bayan Zag, Khongoryn Els and Yolyn Am
Go to Umnugobi and see Bayan zag.
Enter the Gobi Desert.
Feel the Gobi Desert by riding a camel, walking, and visiting the gobi family.
Next, Bayanzag is one of the important and beautiful attractions in the Gobi desert. Baynzag means rich in the saxual tree. Saxual is a tree which only grows up in the desert. Bayanzag is similar to “tsagaan suvarga “, but the colour of the view is redder. It’s very famous for palaeontology. In 1922, American palaeontologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered this place. He founded dinosaur egg and bones. He was travelling and working from China to Europe via Mongolia.

Day 11: Khongoryn Els
After breakfast, drive to the Khongoryn Els.
Stay there for two nights. It’s the most beautiful dune in the Gobi Desert. The highest point of the singing dune is around 250-300m. The length of the dune is about 180 km. When the sand moves, it makes a noise like a flying plane. It is thus called the singing dune. It’s nice to see the sunset from the top of the dunes. This place is a splendid complex of blue sky, blue rocky Altai mountain, golden sands and landscape.
Enjoy camel riding and climbing up dunes.

Day 12: Yoliin Am
Proceed to Yoliin Am located in south, 620km from Ulaan Baatar. It’s a deep and narrow gorge in the "gurvan saikhan” mountains. There is some ice lying on the river before the Naadam Festival which gets melted in the middle of July. It’s an amazing valley for hiking between canyons and a wonderful point for taking photography.

Day 13: Khanbogd, Umnugobi to Ulaanbaatar
Travel from Khanbogd, Umnugobi to Ulaan Baatar by a local airline.
Relax with sauna and massage at the hotel.
Enjoy your last day in Mongolia as you wish.

Day 14: Ulaanbaatar
Time for your international departure.
