Itinerary

Day 1: Ulan Bator
Meet and greet your Ulan Bator tour guide at the international airport and proceed to check-in at your hotel.
In the afternoon, after lunch, enjoy a leisurely time of sightseeing around the city.
Visit the Gandan Monastery and the National History Museum where presents our history and culture from prehistoric to the present day.
Enjoy your welcome dinner at a restaurant.

Day 2: Ancient Capital City
Head out of the city early this morning to Kharkhorum via Hustai NP which serves as a breeding centre for Takhi re-introduction programmes throughout Mongolia and the Central Asian Steppe. Takhi is the world's last truly wild horse and is critically endangered.
Early afternoon, arrive in Kharakhorum and visit Erdenezuu Monastery.
Visit Karakorum Museum.

Day 3: Taikhar Rock
After breakfast, depart from your camp and head to the Taikhar Rock, in Arkhangai province. The rock is a massive granite rock located on the banks of the Tamir River (approx 130 km and 4-5 hour drive).
Arrive in time for lunch.
Follow the Khangai Mountains Pass, passing the Arvaikheer, a centre town of Arkhankhangai province.
Stop to explore the town.
Reach a camp near the rock in time for lunch.
Rest and go for a guided walk in the evening.

Day 4: Khorgo Extinct Volcano and Terkh White
Travel northwest to Khorgo-Terkh Special Protected Area where Khorgo extinct volcano and Terkh White Lake are located (4-5 hours). Khorgo is rich in the beautiful scenery of mountains, cliffs, rapid streams, rivers, lakes, extinct volcanoes, green forests and pastures. Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is an astonishingly beautiful lake with relatively pure fresh water. Torrents of lava issuing from the Khorgo Volcano blocked the north and south Terkh rivers. The lake is 16 km wide, 4-10 meters deep with its deepest point at 28 meters and over 20 km in length.
Watch the sun go down and enjoy a drink on the shore of the lake.

Day 5: Jargalant
After breakfast, continue north, head to Jargalant Hot Spring.
Pass over high mountain passes, vast grasslands, and arrive in Jargalant Hot Springs, which is an ideal point on the overland trail from the heartland to Lake Khuvsgul in the North. The spring generates natural underground water that is good for health reasons. The ger camp offers outdoor baths for tourists.

Day 6: Khuvsgul Lake
Feast on your breakfast, and set off northwards, head to Khuvsgul Lake which is known as the second cleanest lake in Asia. The water of the lake is crystal clear so that you can see the bottom of the lake and it is surrounded by mountains and deep forest.
Discover the surroundings and enjoy the wilderness and the lovely lake views.

Day 7: Khuvsgul Lake
Visit the village of Reindeer people to find out about the lives of local people.

Day 8: Ulan Bator
Ride to Murun town for your flight to Ulaanbaatar.
Check-in to your hotel and enjoy traditional folk music and dance performance.

Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, proceed to the airport for your onward flight.
