Itinerary

1. Day 1: Mandalay Sightseeing

   • Pick-up by your tour guide from Mandalay International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

   • Visit Mahamuni Pagoda, home to a spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves. 

   • Head to local workshops to see Kalaga tapestries being made with gold leaves beaten into paper-thin pieces. 

   • Visit Kuthodaw Pagoda, where the Theravada Buddhist scriptures are inscribed on 729 marble slabs, giving its nickname ‘The world’s largest book’. 

   • Visit the beautiful teak-carved Shwenandaw Monastery, the only Royal Palace building to survive the World War II bombing. 

   • Climb the top of Mandalay Hill, where you will witness glittering glass-studded temple walls which reflect the evening glow as you watch the sunset. 

   • Visit U Bein Bridge, which is located over a kilometre from the hill and is believed to be the longest teak bridge in the world. 

   • Return to your hotel in Mandalay.

2. Day 2: Heho Culture Tour

   • Arrive at Heho and you will be picked up by your guide from the CBT point. 

   • Leave from Samkar village and walk up the western slope of the Lwekhaw mountain range. At the peak of the mountain, you can look at Samkar Lake and view patches of seasonal crops in the mountains. 

   • Rest in the forest and continue to walk down to Lwemoon village. The village's population is formed from both Shan and Pa-O ethnic groups. The villagers can speak both languages and they still wear their traditional outfits.  

   • Continue to the east until Namtek village. The trek between Lwemoon and Namtek is flat and it will take about one hour. You will walk across the paddy fields and will see villagers working in the field. The villages around the plain make for marvellous sceneries.  

   • Enjoy lunch in one of the local houses in Namtek village. Some of their homes are still built in their traditional style. You can learn about their language, culture, building style and ways of life and enjoy the view of the landscape in and around the village during lunch. 

   • Stop in Htikaung village for the night. The village is located in the valley of the Kaungneinmountain range, which keeps an important memory concerning national and ethnic history.

3. Day 3: CBT Village Excursion

   • Start your day with some sightseeing in the CBT village after having breakfast in Htikaung.

   • Start walking to the top of the Kaungnaine mountain range at 8:00 AM. This is the highest mountain range in the eastern part of Inle Lake. The trek is winding up from the foot to the top of the mountain. When you get to the top, take a rest and enjoy the view of Inle valley to the west and Hopong-Seseng valley to the east. 

   • Proceed to Pinton village, through an area dense with pine and other valuable trees. You can also see the young monks studying Buddhist literature.

   • Relish the picnic lunch which will be eaten on the way to a panoramic viewpoint. 

   • Begin to pass through the seasonal crops on the way to Maetine village. 

   • Stay overnight in the village.

4. Day 4: Inle lake Trip

   • Transfer from CBT village to Inle valley after having breakfast at Maetine village. 

   • Visit Phatpon village and observe the lifestyle of the villagers.

   • Enjoy a scrumptious lunch which will be served with the traditional taste of Pa'o at Lwekan village. 

   • Proceed to Kantawdamwhich and watch the irrigation process of summer crops.

   • Walk up to Thetlutt Mountain and down to Lwekhaw. 

   • Continue to Inpawkhon boat jetty. From here, you will take the boat to return to your hotel on Inle Lake or the Nyaung Shwe jetty.

5. Day 5: Departure to Yangon

   • Return to Heho International Airport and fly to Yangon International Airport.
