Itinerary

1. Day 1: Moreh/Tamu - Kalay

   • Meet your tour guide and driver waiting for you at Tamu/Moreh border check-point to assist you with necessary documents and represent you with the border crossing formalities and procedures at the check-point authority’s counters.
   • Head to Kalay Myo. Drive through curvy, twisty mountain roads, and enjoy the landscapes on the way. 
   • Visit local villages en route on the outskirt of Kalaymyo.
   • Wander around Kalay Myo by yourself and spend the night in Kalay Myo.

2. Day 2: Gangaw - Monywa

   • Drive from Kalay to Monywa via the picturesque Gangaw after breakfast. It takes around a 9-hour drive to reach today’s destination. Have lunch on the way.
   • Arrive in Monywa in the late afternoon with your Burmese tour guide. 

   Relax and Overnight stay at a hotel in Monywa.

3. Day 3: Monywa – Pakokku– Bagan

   • Visit the colourful Thanboddhay Pagoda, which is home to more than 500,000 images of Buddha and the Hiaungdawmu Buddha, the second largest reclining Buddha in Burma.
   • Head off to Bagan en route to Pakokku
   • Visit some untouched local villages on the way to Pakokkuand if time permits, then continue driving to Bagan.
   • Enjoy the sunset from the best sunset corner of Bagan.

   Overnight stay in Bagan.

4. Day 4: Bagan

   • After breakfast at the hotel, today you will be devoted to discovering Bagan, “the mystic” extraordinary archaeological site that does not have anything to envy but Angkor with its 3000 temples.
   • Start a sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung Oo Colorful Market in the Nyaung Oo region. A diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi, fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes; and Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its plaster curving, Ananda Temple, the best-preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and the Tharabha Gate.
   • Then, take a lunch break at an excellent local restaurant.
   • Transfer back to the hotel for refreshing and relaxing till afternoon sightseeing begins.
   • Visit the lacquerware workshop and then visit Dhammayangyi, a missive temple from the 12th century with its architecture and temple.
   • Continue to Sularmuni Temple, dating from the 12th century, and it is an excellent place for a photo stop.
   • Move to the jetty to take the private sunset boat to enjoy the sunset from the Ayeyarwaddy River. 

   Overnight stay in Bagan.

5. Day 5: Mandalay –Mt.Popa-Bagan

   • After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the jetty to take a ferry boat to Mingun, 11 km upriver from Mandalay on the western bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River.
   • After taking the boat trip for about 45 minutes, walk and start your tour to the Mingun Pagoda, an unfinished pagoda that might have been the biggest in the history of Buddhism, Mingun bell, the world's largest ringing bell, and the Myatheindan Pagoda.
   • Then, stream down to Ava and lunch is arranged on the boat.
   • Upon arrival at Ava, the former Royal Capital of INWA (AVA), visit by horse-drawn carriage, NanMyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace building nicknamed "the leaning tower of Ava" MahaAung Myay Bone Zan Monastery, built of brick and stucco and Bagayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts.
   • Then, continue on U Bein Bridge, at 1.2km, the world's longest teak footbridge. It's a hugely photogenic structure that stretches across Thaungthaman Lake and comes alive in every sense as dust approaches.
   • After that, drive back to the hotel and do an overnight stay in Mandalay.

6. Day 6: Mandalay – Ywar Ngan – Pindaya –Inle

   • Head off to Inle Lake, located in Southern Shan State. Of course, that seems to be a long drive, but it is worth driving due to the beautiful scenery and fantastic landscape and interesting tribal peoples. 
   • On the way, visit Pindaya’s limestone cave with its maze of chambers displaying more than 8,000 Buddha statues and local handicraft workshops producing Shan paper made from mulberry bark and traditional umbrellas made from the same paper used by monks all around the country. 
   • Take a lunch break at an excellent local restaurant in Pindaya.
   • After lunch, drive straight back to Nyaung Shwe, the major gateway to Inle lake (which might take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes). Inle Lake is one of Myanmar’s best-known sights. The Intha people, a tribe of Mon descent, mainly inhabit the lakeshores and floating villages. 
   • On arrival at Nyaung Shwe, transfer to the boat stand in Nyaung Shwe and directly transfer to your hotel in Inle lake.

7. Day 7: Inle Lake

   • After breakfast, transfer to the jetty and take a boat ride for a full day of sightseeing in Inle lake.
   • Start your lake exploration at one of the local five-day markets (if market day coincides with your stay in Inle Lake). The highlights include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, which enshrines the famous five Buddha statues covered by gold and lost their shapes, the unique leg rowers and floating gardens, silk weaving village (Inpaw Khone Village).
   • Take a lunch break at an excellent local restaurant in Inle lake.
   • After lunch, continue excursion to Hand-rolled cigar making factory, blacksmith factory, and Nga Phae Chaung monastery; well known for its ancient Buddha images made of teak, bamboo and lacquer. Its nickname is “Jumping Cats Monastery” for its trained cats by monks to jump into the hoop.
   • Visit the stilt houses to observe the lifestyle of the water dweller and floating gardens corner of Inle lake.
   • Return to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay in Nyaung Shwe, Inle lake.

8. Day 8: Inle – Taung Gyi - Kunghing

   • Drive on the road connecting the border points of Thailand and Myanmar. 
   • Leave Inle Lake and continue driving to Khun Hin, which is a small town on the way to Thachileik. 

   Overnight stay in Kun Hin.

9. Day 9: Kunhing - Keng Tung

   • Head towards Keng Tung, located in Eastern Shan State, nestled in a sprawling valley surrounded by undulating hills and mountains carpeted in paddy fields and tea plantations. It is situated at the heart of the ‘Golden Triangle’ where the borders of Myanmar, China, Laos and Thailand conjugate, leading to it being awash with the fare and cultural influences of Myanmar’s eastern neighbours. 
   • Drive through the high Shan plateau with many winding roads, twists and turns.
   • Visit some forgotten tribal villages and relax with an overnight stay in Keng Tung.

10. Day 10: Keng Tung - Thachileik

    • Leave Myanmar through the Thachileik border point. Drive straight from Keng Tung to Thachileik to pass through Thailand and Myanmar borders for you to enter Thailand.
